I think most mid-majors will dump athletics because there is no point in having it if they aren't getting money from the NCAA. It's a money pit and not justifiable. The model of using athletics as enrollment, like most NAIA schools, at least helps pay for itself to an extent.

With his impressive muscular build, tall stature, and chiseled abs, what does this mean for the future of the NAIA field? Word on the street is that this kid has unlimited potential and a massive killer instinct. Look out for this absolute dawg.
Anyone ever heard of Quintuple threshold for racewalking? I heard from an anonymous source that cole bennett of cumberlands has been experimenting with this. 5 threshold sessions, 3 times a week. Seems to be effective as he’s already gotten the A standard with ease.

Meh sure Powers might make somewhat of an impact at the mid distance game in the NAIA. But we all know that he isn’t ready to sit at the adults table with me, Payton, and the rest of the Dordt boys. If Powers wants a fight in that last 150 of the 800, then he’s got one! LETS GO!!!
With roster sizes being cut in the NCAA, will there be EVEN MORE talent in the NCCAA? With the immense talent that Campbellsvilee, Grace, College of the Ozarks and Wesgmong return next year, is it possible we see a sub 23 champ!? Also, very shocked to see more people haven't hit these easy ass NAIA standards. Can't call yourself a collegiate athlete in a slow ass division and still not be able to hit standard, like me, Ben Bird has.
There are also supported rumors of sophomore Indiana State superstar, Max Powers, to make a switch to the NAIA. With incredible PRs of 2:08, 4:52, and a 50 SECOND 400 m split his junior year of high school, it will be an upset if he is not seen at nationals. How will his transfer change the scene of American track and field?
Nobody cares about NCCAA and they school you mentioned are mediocre at best
I'm sure many of you here have seen the news that the NCAA *quietly* announced in the fall that they were (3 years late) following World Athletics and banning super shoes for track races. I have heard of SEC athletes having their times changed to DQ on TFRRS due to racing a 3k in vaporflys. This was in early January and since then I have seen several D2 meets, Washburn & NWMSU, making notes in their meet information about enforcing proper shoe rules with both meets going as far as to employ a "shoe control officer".
Next weekend for a lot of teams in conference weekend and I am curious if anyone knows if these rules apply to NAIA? I have several athletes looking to double 5k/3k and supershoes has made doing this so much easier. I've asked around a bit and done some googling but so far I haven't had any luck finding any info!
My guess is NAIA doesn't have a clue about these shoes and conferences are even worse. Now with that said that doesn't mean the officials running these meets don't know and enforce it since most also work NCAA meets. Technically NAIA follows NCAA Track and field rules book so coaches job is to know the rules and educate athletes.
Wiley dips under A standard opening her collegiate season yesterday in 2:00. Was not wearing a Huntington uniform. Am I wrong in saying she cannot qualify for NAIA Indoor without wearing her team uniform? Weird she didn’t wear the teams kit when she knew that she’d hit A.
All indications are that she will be joining the team at Crossroads next week but roark will have to coach her because lauren and josh won't be allowed in the building

this thread was so much better with wiley talk. No one actually cares about cumberlands, sowder or race walking. we could discuss how the higher standards will drastically impact nationals. we could discuss how stupid it is to host on a banked track when many schools don't have access to racing on one during the season. they might as well just host races at altitude. we can also talk about huntington or the johnsons or josh getting fired or how the eagles will win tonight!!!
