LOL I thought something similar when I read Darren's FB post. Forget about the PM stuff in there. Back of the pack at Badwater is a little different than back of the pack at your local charity 5k. Maybe not the same as back of the pack at the Olympic Marathon, but there are some races were you have to be pretty legit just to be allowed to show up and run the thing.

Of course, this is based on the assumption you are qualifying honestly.

PM did not qualify honestly. She was DQd from RR100, presumably one of her qualifying races, and no reasonable person would believe she finished her 23hr I Ran 100 miler in the time she provided there.

So... if I was Darren or anyone else who ran the 100s necessary to qualify for Badwater, and then got beat by a cheater, I'd be pissed too. And I still give the folks using their real names here credit. I don't have the balls to put my hobby jogger times out for the trolls here to tear apart. Barely anyone does on these boards.

The point is we need to get the cheater, PM, DQd from Badwater so some other runner can qualify in. In an invitational, someones gonna come in last. Seeing as I don't even have an invite, I won't judge whoever it is that does.

Unless they cheat.

Listen, I know what it takes to "qualify" for Badwater. And I use that term very loosely since the standards aren't very high. Sorry, back of the pack is back of the pack.

Better to be back of the pack then to resort to cheating just to finish, "ultra" guy

We may be talking about the same incident!!! I heard about what happened this past Monday in New York!!!! She loves to cheat in every part of the country!!! Umm...this is on topic, what's wrong with this post? I AGREE 100%, she doesn't look like she's running at all so how does she even have the time to finish long races and then run another one. Honestly, it doesn't add up, aka seems fishy/fake.

Stevie is from NY now? But married to PM in San Antonio?!? Maybe he had one of those fake mustaches on so nobody would recognize him !

So whats the story on this race? I see it's a loop course, which is her favorite type of race to cheat at, but there aren't any splits posted, and there aren't any race pics I can see, so its hard to check the facts from afar.

Who saw what go down?

I did run that race. I am a back-of-the-pack, lousy, slow runner. LM shuffled the whole race and I passed him twice yet somehow he 'finished' before me. I e-mailed the RD with my concerns.

It is a loop course, each loop just under three miles. They had volunteers who were supposed to record your bib each time you passed but after the 5 hour mark, there didn't appear to be anyone recording bibs. Would have been very easy to skip a loop or two and simply run down the finishers chute.

does this gal wear a garmin? she could upload her race to any number of sites -easy to prove/disprove distance within a few tenths...
