Here's another statistics which Armstronglivs and Coevett (astro, about the marathon...) undoubtedly will like.
I looked at the NRs of the six most successful nations (Kenya, USA, New Zealand, Australia, Finland, Great Britain) in the five olympic track distance events at the begin of the period (1964) and then in five year steps (1969,1974, 1979).
Then I gave 1 point for the best NR in an event and year and 6 points for the worst record (exercise for both of you genius: complete the point scale for the records in between).
Then I added all the points for each nation.
Now, before you look at the statistics: guess which nation comes out 1st?
You did? Yes, your assessment was correct, it's our all favored beautiful East African flower country Kenya!
Note, I have not added the 3000m/2 Miles. If you want, I can do it, it will increase Kenya's lead.
