I am very busy, and I don't know if the route and timings are published (I'll bet not), but if he is coming near Central Ohio I would go check. I'm not worried about any potential violence or threats therein. I'll walk straight up to him. If assaulted, he gets arrested.
I know the US has issues, but it's still against the law to assault or throw rocks at someone, and it is NOT against the law to be near someone on a public roadway. I would of course be GoPro'd up to prevent any "he said" BS.
Yes it is. But, you heard that it WC was driving far too close to them and came close to hitting them. WC said that was because he suffers from poor depth perception. It's also against the law to run someone over. if you went into it ala Laz from the standpoint of looking to verify as opposed to try to prove them a fraud, I believe they would welcome it.

You know what got me following this entire journey? I wasn't on it from the start. I started following it when someone posted something about the run on a FB page. From there, I went and looked at his IG feed and then the Strava upload. I was truly impressed. Then, a couple of people in the comments were calling him a fraud saying that there is no way he could be doing this in the manner he was. I don't like negative people...I believe in the good in people. Then, holy cow I fell down the rabbit hole here on LR. WC made some accusations, but his premise was that since he didn't have the pedigree and that his HR was too low for what he believed to be possible, he must be a fraud. I will defend until I see otherwise that he is doing this.
And, is him stepping up his mileage to 62 miles a day really a 'sprint finish'? Based on his average pacing, that is just an extra 70-80 minutes a day. That isn't a sprint. I believe he has been fueled a bit by all the haters and doubters.
Have you attempted to actually learn about him and his story? Or, did you jump straight to 'this is ridiculous?'
Serious question, have you ever moved your body on your own for 50 miles in a day? I don't care who you are, it is not trivial. To do it for two months? And to get faster? Anyone that says it isn't "all that special" without showing they know what they are talking about is FULL OF IT.
Yes I have. I've done 2 24 hour runs to raise money for charities that I'm passionate to support. No, I haven't done it for two months. I was not saying it to make it out to be trivial. But, I joke with friends that if I'm going to go out for a 12 mile run, I might as well do 13.1. To those that only run 5ks that seems unbelievable to them that I do that regularly (50 halfs in 50 weeks last year to celebrate turning 50). So, please don't say I'm full of it...unless you mean "full of pride", "full of belief in the good in people", "full of you are capable of more than you think" In those cases, yes I am full of it.

It is easy to read posts that only agree with your way of thinking but difficult to consider other options. If I see a post that is overly negative and down right absurd, I will continue to comment...over and over again. I feel sorry for you that you can't even consider the possibility that WG is doing this. But, hey, don't worry...be happy! I'll never apologize for being positive with a faith in humanity. I'd much rather live that way than wallow in misery.
Presumably WG is now feeling super confident that no one can prove he's not doing this, that he's happy to up the ante. Sadly I think the only way to work out what's actually going on out there is to get some eyes on him. I'm losing hope that that's going to happen.

He does welcome people to come out -- I'll be running with him in the next couple of weeks. I was polite and asked...they sure absolutely! I didn't hurl insults and then say I'm coming to watch your fraud. But, I don't believe there is any fraud going on here. Is there someone out there who is willing/wanting to observe them everyday for the rest of the run? I highly doubt it. My goodness, they are releasing more than enough video and have hundreds and hundreds of hours of footage. Why would they be so transparent with all the video if it was a fake? That is the definition of crazy...and I don't believe they're crazy!

I ran 6 miles with him on Tuesday afternoon. And, I saw him running 4 days earlier (some 200 miles earlier in Missouri). If I believed there were more open minds on this thread, I would have posted my experience, but a wise person (who has done TCs) suggested I realize I won't change any minds. Ooops, I can't help myself :)
Just saw a reply to a comment on insta "I have titles to claim and miles to run" so he's going to be posting the big miles til the end to make that claim on sign on the side of his RV mean something.

The titles to be won is a soccer reference as the guy he was replying to plays for Arsenal - his team that is going to narrowly miss out on the EPL title.
I have run more than 50 a day several times and it is not nearly as big a deal as everyone is making out. 72 a day is. Funnily enough, the people who have run high mileage multidays tend to be the ones believing his miles. PK and several other transconners have all seen no particular reason to doubt the claim. The simple fact is no one has offered a plausible explanation for how he is cheating. WillC has been banging on about low hr. Yet when recruiter57 joined him unannounced for 6 miles in the middle of his run, the hr and cadence remained the same as the rest of that day. If there had been cheating going on, there would have been a marked difference in those 6 miles. Someone please explain why there wasn’t.
