lol, if they had succeeded the world record would be irrelevant. You would see "nike sub first 2" plastered all over your social media and any sports site. The amount of people who care enough to know the real record would be very small compared to the amount of people who heard nike ran the broke the 2 hour barrier, which is exactly why they put on this spectacle in the first place. To each his own but they are disrespecting the sport we love to make a buck and im just amazed so many people are in support of it

I didn't like the event as a whole but admit the pacers etc were genuinely shouting and encouraging him on. That definetly seemed to keep him going.

To the old geezers who keep talking about "respecting the sport" and "doing things the right way" - noone cares. Times have changed, this is the way things are now, so gtfo with the negativity.

This was a great night for the sport, and EK is a amazing runner and human.

Im not old and im one of the people posted that and like i said, to each his own. Im just surprised so many people view it that way is all. Hook line and sinker right into nikes pocket. They may be shameless but they sure know how to make money

I saw one guy (okay three), trying to cover as much ground as fast as possible at his absolute limit. For me, that is running at it's core. It was Kipchoge going full gas testing his limits, and it was beautiful to watch the man at work.

As far as social media goes, I suppose I don't care either way. If Joe beer belly that hasn't ever run for 10 minutes continuously in his life thinks some nike guy ran a marathon in under 2 hours it doesn't impact me, or the sport, because he doesn't have anything to do with the sport.

Didn't Tadese run a 4 minute pb? (If this event even counts as an event).

Kipchoge put it all out there, risked his credibility for a gimmick, and showed us all what a phenomenal runner and man he is. The pain was etched in his face, but he didn't blow up like some expected.

I hope he does Berlin and takes the WR. I think he would have learned something from the preparation for this event.

I honestly kinda felt sorry for the three runners. they looked like three lab mice in torment, suffering.
