1) He was cruising it thinking it was an easy mark and now we'll see some real effort and he'll make it...and why not? He doesn't look tired. He may just be...good at this.
2) The above...and he breaks, either to return to old mileage...or period.
3) Something untoward is happening. If ever there was the need for boots (Boots?) on the ground for a solid week it is now. Not necessarily to "bust" WG, but to vindicate just as much...
I want to make sure I'm understanding this. Are you saying that this team, already 38 days into their transcon, is now changing strategy to push for a finish within 15 remaining days instead of their originally scheduled 26 remaining days?
If anyone still believed in the validity of this run, a decision like this should sink that belief for good.
This is pretty hilarious. Avoid scrutiny by not going for the record, then "sprint it in at the end" to nip the record at the line.

Goodge is now travelling at a far quicker pace than Lawson was for the last 30% of his Jogle WR. His last four runs were at 7:29, 8:31, 8:59, 9:22. This was 7:17.
This is a comparison with Women's Jogle WR holder Molinaro when she did similar distance each day:
So WG is out there for over 3 hours less and an HR of 107 to 140. That is what we're being asked to buy. And one of the very few 100+K negative splits in history.

The weird part is that this guy hasn’t cracked 3 hours in the marathon, weighs a lot more than your average runner, went into this with fewer than 2000 miles run in 2022, and is seemingly finding it a breeze.
Is the added muscle mass somehow helping for the very slow Ks? Who knows.
I told you above, heart rate numbers are not to be used because of how unreliable the sensors are on wrist watches due to movement.
There is nothing suspicious about Goodge's data, I went through all his uploads in detail by downloading it all and analyzing it with my tools. This isn't my first transcon rodeo, I've done a lot more of this analysis stuff than you can imagine.
You need to go apologize to Goodge's team because his data, through the cadence and speeds, clearly show he is doing this all on foot.
I know this is several weeks ago, but I love the idea of you trying to use "boots on the ground" as your ID and seeing it was taking, and having to switch to "sneakers on the ground."

That’s a ridiculous comparison. Dan had been running an extra 30 miles a day. Take a look at his 3 Peaks attempt - runs 84 miles. Next day he’s holding 6min/km for periods at HR under 120. Blows WG out of the water.
wow, WG has just negative splitted a 105k day, with lots of climbing in the second half. He was dropping 40-60 mins a day when observed, but now is speeding up. He dropped nearly 3 hours on his Lake Como run by comparison.
His HRs were normal early, up to 139, but for the second half, pure fantasy, basically 105s.
This is getting truly wild now and the word on FB is that to correct their 64 day blunder of the British record, they're simply recalibrating to the 53 days target.
Pure fantasy...based on your first hand knowledge of him running? I, in fact, ran 6 miles with him yesterday. My HR was in the high 130s and his was in the low 100s. He has a slightly longer stride than me but we were step-by-step for the segment. I was sweating a lot and he barely was. I only wish I had his physique and capability. Just because one hasn't done these distances does not mean he isn't more than capable of doing so. Because he is, in fact, doing so.

Huh? How'd it affect my HR? I am normally a RunWalkRunner so my HR fluctuates. But, if he was running, I was running. High 130s is about right for me at that pace

Any reason why this thread has never appeared as a “hot thread” on the LR suggestion list and neither Rojo/Wejo has ever commented? It has the most posts/activity of any thread in years, but is receiving no acknowledgement from the site or Rojo/Wejo.
I also don’t understand the cadence. how do you run 11-13 minute miles with a 176-180 cadence? I tried to do that this morning. I got to 173 but my pace hit 9:30. I was trying to move as slow as humanly possible. And if you say it was part walking and part running, wouldn’t that cause cadence to plummet further?
is there a logical explanation for this?

If you wanted to cheat you could ride a bike one handed at 110 heart rate and swing the watch arm to get the cadence.

i was on course for a world record 30seconds in the 200m. at 100m, after 15 seconds, i discovered the wr was actually 19 seconds, so i will do the second 100m in 4 seconds.
