First time in quite a while that the Oles tripled the distance score of the other teams. Not quite a changing of the guard, but the Johnnies seem to want it more. Winning makes you soft.

Duvivier finishes 6th in the 5000m and snatches Honorable Mention AlI-MIAC honors as a freshman. Coyier finishes behind him in 12th.
Bati second at US 25K Championships! He’s figuring this professional athlete thing out.

Klecker vs Bati (and others) at G-mas 2026. A good performance there probably secures him an OK contract. Beating clinger et al gets him some serious consideration.
Cole racing at both Auggie and La Crosse if needed. Smart move by Maxwell to ensure he gets two days of competition. Several other runners are entered at Auggie that need to run faster, so hopefully he can do his patented sit and kick. He's the top seed at La Crosse. Nick is in the 800 and Malecha is hoping to pull a Carter Grove race out to join Cole at Nats.
Looks like Goss is trying to squeeze in. If he runs what he ran last year, he has a good shot of making the meet. He'll likely be much faster without the 10K in his legs - which is an odd double if you know your team cannot win and you're trying to qualify for Nationals.
The Ole 800 crew will only race La Crosse. Brauer will be hoping to break up their pack with Nick. And Michael Schultz will look to PR after the big Bethel 4 x 800 leg.
Hoisington hoping to chase the Tor's 1500m record?
Saw on IG that the Ole baseball coach stepping down. They left comment open for his retirement post too. That tells you all you need to know per prior discussion of he we won’t name.
That’s a lot of coaches that have left St. Olaf in the last few months. Not the best look for admin.

Hope the wind dies down for them. Looks like the top 3 800 women are trying to qualify there too. Been a rough year for weather in Minnesota
I gotta give Brendo props. He’s seeding Brauer very aggressively this year. 1:51 for the 800m ahead of the Oles and St. Peter. Will be hilarious if he beats them. The dude did run 3:50 around this time a few years ago. It might happen!
Liston running the 500m just a few days after the 5K/10K double. That is seriously tough.

Strange to qualify for your first national meet, then go on to race the 5k/10k or both EVERY week before nationals?
He did split that at drake
Good job by Brendo in advocating for his athlete. I'm surprised La Crosse allowed splits. They haven't in the past. Wasn't that an issues with some Oles after Power let them run 730m in an 800m?
He's already been offered a few contracts, believe Puma was one of them. He's holding out for now believing that his performance at Grandma's could change his negotiating position. If he wasn't working overnight shifts he could probably be a 2:06 mid or 2:07 low guy.
Cole closing in on the MIAC record! Finally gets some competition and pops off!
Savvy ploy by Maxwell to apply to host State, especially given that the new Oles coach seems to be trying to make inroads in Minnesota recruiting. Not sure if they'll get the meet, but it was astounding that Power both got rid or State and also never capitalized on hosting on his campus. If I'm Maxwell I hold a recruiting event concurrently with State and an early season invitational. Theodore Wirth could be cool too.

I get literally nobody cares about any of the athletes or performances anymore, but if we’re going full MIAC coach fan fiction/fetish content can you at least list the schools so that people who don’t go to meets to stare at random D3 coaches can know wtf you’re talking about (wtf = who tf)
You must be new. The high school league chat mentioned St. John’s had applied to host State. Their coach is Maxwell. You can infer the rest, but it’s not worth getting into. I’d thought Olaf tried to get the meet back, but it doesn’t appear they did. The women always ran the meet in my time, but half these posters mention Olaf or Power just to get a rise out of someone or the because they are too slow to let their demons loose and just wail on on the track, so they do it here.
I stan Cole, but he needs to drop 3 seconds to be in that conversation. Maybe he will do that this week now that he has actual competition, but I would fully back his chances of running 3:42 next year.
