My call: Rupp finishes in 2:10-2:11, doesn't make the team

150' drop, not 350'. probably would'v still ran faster with competition at Houston than he would here by himself. I can't imagine that 150' would aid you by more than one or two seconds per mile. The wind would be a bigger factor as the course trends west.

2:10-2:11 would easily win these trials. The course is 2-3 minutes slower than something like Chicago according to Ben Rosario and the athletes who have previewed the course. I do get your sentiment though and would be shocked if you were correct.

It's just sad at this point. The guy has no integrity whatsoever. He's been coddled and protected by Nike and Salazar for years, he believes he can do no wrong. It's funny that he gets compared to Pre. He's nothing like Pre. Pre was strong and outspoken and stood up for what was right.

By the sounds of it, looks like Rupp would likely have gone 60 flat in Houston. That's damn good.

Well, for whatever else, he looked extremely smooth and relaxed in that posted clip. I wish I could cruise so comfortably at that pace!

I agree with above statement. I wonder why the severe hate from Rojo toward a company that is supporting financially and developing tools for the dying sport of track and field. Nike is the only company keeping our sport alive for the past 20+ years. If they hate mikes business practices, what car do you drive? To point out the hypocracy of hating Nike, I’m sure Rojo happily does business with major corporations who are far more destructive to the planet or humans than Nike. But those are okay, Nike (easily the company who puts 10x more money into track and field than any other corporation) is bad. Yeah.......

Nike developed cutting edge shoe technology, Nike financially sponsors most of the best track and field athletes in the world. And Rojo thinks Nike is evil to our sport...

Despite the questionable relationship with Salazar that started while he wasn't even an adult, I have to admit Rupp's consistency over the years has been very impressive. Great result today if this was supposed to be nothing more than a tune-up.

thing is the sport only really started dying about the time a lot of money went into it. Think of the best moments of track and it was before there was a lot of money for just a few at the top. This money created a barrier of access to those who were not a part of the money plan, and it is those people who give life to the sport.... kinda like the woman who ran a marathon Q time but was stuck in the back section?
