NIKE puts a rail on their track which is stripped for 400m without a rail to move the 5K starting line up.
I’m no math wizard but shorter distances = faster times for standardized distances....This smells of NIKE marketing optics.
But still, quick times nonetheless.

I havent been paying that much attention. Was this trying to qualify for worlds or is it in the window for the olympics?

The track didn’t change length, they just put the rail on top of the inside line. In fact it would make the race long, because they have to run slightly outside of what the markings predict.

Is McGorty and Hill update? They time trialed at BU indoor over 5k, why didn't they run today? I'm guessing not healthy if they didn't run USAs?
Way more than 300 people there. We had to walk over one meters to find a spot on the track. Not to mention the hs teams on the hill. It was awesome to watch, they really had it dialed in tonight.
The track doesn't just stop before the first lane lol. There's an edge and that's where the rail goes. It's just like every other track.

Obviously ridiculously fast times for the BTC guys -- 12:58 for Woody Kincaid, 13:00 for Lopez Lomong, and 13:00 for Matthew Centrowitz. Great signs for Lomong and Centro ahead of Worlds. Is Lomong now a medal contender in the 10k? If it goes fast like it has the last few years, I still think probably not, but if it doesn't, I think he's a dark horse.
Kincaid's race today was the perfect encapsulation of Jerry Schumacher right now. His supporters will argue Schumacher is a genius for turning a guy who wasn't a big-time pro recruit and never finished higher than 5th at NCAAs while in college into a 12:58 man. His critics will say that Jerry Schumacher failed to get a 12:58 guy on the Worlds team because he didn't race enough.
Did the NOP crew watch the race?
Why Did Ahmed (The pacer) quit in the LEAD with 800 to go? He might have broke the Canadian Record? I guess since he apparently led the 10 laps he must be in INCREDIBLE shape, Maybe sub 27 in the 10000 and LOW 12:50's in the 5000 in Doha? Note it is A Championship so it likely will be tactical, but if they go for a fast time it would be interesting.
