As Subway said, Coe and Ovett didn't benefit from any Kenyan boycott. Both Ereng and Rono, however, were lucky that Coe was effectively banned from Seoul by his own athletics board for being seen as 'privilaged white'.
Well, at least Coe probably had a better chance of winning in Seoul if he had went than any Kenyan would have had in 76 or 80.
I like certain Kenyan runners, but at the end of the day, Kenyans are successful largely because they enjoy a huge advantage of being born at altitude, being useless at any other sport, and having access to unlimited EPO with little or no testing.
Kenya chose to boycott Moscow and LA. Stop blaming whitey for everything. African cheating has put back distance running in Europe and the USA half a century.

What are you talking about you moron? I'm being accused of racism for the supposedly absurd belief that eveybody faster than Iwan Thomas was doping (and I don't actually, I was clearly trolling). Yet virtually ever suicide bombing (and there have been literally hundreds) has been carried out by radical Muslims. You're assuming that not every runner faster than Thomas is dirty. The point is I'm saying that if those 50 faster than Thomas are from a different culture in which doping is possible, then it's no more absurd to believe it might in fact be the case, as it is to believe that every suicide bomber is a Muslim (and we happen to know that this is the case - because of factors within modern Islam). It's a perfectly fair analogy.
Personally I think that, yes, it's probable an African has run faster clean than Craig Mottram.
However, it's still the case that he is the most likely clean world record holder.
That's because he comes from a culture in which doping is more frowned upon and where elite athletes are tested far more frequently.
Saying which African is clean is like drawing lots. It's pure guesswork.

It is absolutely more racist, because you are applying it to blacks of all countries, not just ones of a country with state-sponsored doping programs similar to the Soviet Bloc.
