Galen congratulates the 2nd place finisher as he dances, gives him a hug. After they were done congratulating each other, they walked to different spots of the finish chute. There was 0 indication that Abel wanted to continue to talk to Rupp and Rupp blowing him off. They were done with their interaction and walking their separate ways. In other words, he was a very respectful winner.

Galen hugged his family BEFORE Abel crossed the line. See 02:25 to 02:37.

I'm actually relieved he didn't try to dance with Kirui and instead just gave him a hug and smile and enjoyed it with him for a moment. A shimmy attempt would've been disastrous on many levels. The anticipation of that was making ME nervous just watching it develop for 2 seconds.

He's just awkward, i got no beef with that. Not everyone is a smooth extrovert or an expert social media insta tweetersnapper. Bro has kids and trains all day, ain't got time for that. The radio silence is prob the perfect storm of the skepticism surrounding NOP (possibly for good reason) and Rupp being who he is.

I don't think Galen is a Douche. I saw him in Chicago after his win. He graciously stopped in the hallway with celebratory beer in hand and posed for a couple photos with obvious spectators.

What's dismaying is the number of people whose thinking is so pitifully shallow that they divide the NOP world into two possibilities:

3. Salazar carries a tube of androgen cream around with him for a medical condition (history of myocardial infarction) for which androgens are contraindicated.

Take just these three facts into consideration. Ignore, if you want to, the avalanche of internal and internally consistent allegations by athletes and coaches, the IV infusion irregularities, and the otherworldly progressions, performances and post-competition workouts. Forget the frank disdain of other elites of the NOP, even those who typically lavish praise on their competitors.

Forget that Jordan Hasay now owns a 5K-10K-half marathon-full marathon performance curve that simply did not exist before the advent of blood-boosters: 15:28, 31:39, 1:07:55, 2:20:57.

Forget all of that and just study these three facts with as open a mind as possible. If they don't trigger suspicion in your mind, that's fine. But labeling others "negative losers" for failing to check their critical thinking at the door of fandom is laughable.

It must suck though to be disliked by so many and not have support from others in the running community. It's got to be hard for Jordan losing her mom and then to have others basically ignore your accomplishments. I mean granted they are winning so they may not care, but I can't imagine it's any fun knowing everyone (minus your close family circle) doesn't want you to win. And I get it, there is a lot of controversy surrounding NOP, just seems like they are pretty isolated.

As for jealousy: heaps of support and love always for Emma Coburn, Jenny Simpson, Evan Jager and other hugely successful distance runners. Just not so much from NOPers. It's not jealousy.
