As an old UW alumni I never thought I'd see the Huskies come up with second in both DMRs. Hats off to the staff and athletes.

Ches' time in the 5000 was slower than his ability for 10K, so 3:54 mile after that seems about right for a guy of his caliber. He's about a 3:51 guy with a ton of strength.

I completely agree. Not to take anything away from the performance, but, I equate this to 3mile tempo w/full rest + 1 mile all-out. Essentially, the tempo warms you up for the mile, rather than taking away from it. I guarantee you Cheserek doesn't run faster than 3:52/3:34 this spring/summer.
Again, an excellent time, but as someone else alluded to before, he's a pro level athlete basking in the glory of college competition. However, when pitted against other pro athletes, his signature kick was nowhere to be seen. Truthfully, the 3:52 is impressive to me in it's own right, the 5k beforehand doesn't really add to or takeaway from the performance.
It's just getting old with the unsurprising sit-and-kick w/200m left against athletes nowhere near his level. Imagine the likes of Rupp,Hill,Jager etc. etc. racing cheserek each week and doing the EXACT same thing to him (as seen at millrose), it get's old after awhile and you'd rather see them face competition more suited to their abilities. Ches is nice and comfortable for now, but it's identical to the college kids being afraid of entering the real work-force and leaving the comforts of college. Once Ches turns pro, all the glory and praise will be no more because his astonishing performances become 7th and 8th place finishes in pro races.

Rohrer was 4th. While the first 3 had good times, the others were really slow. Rohrer's time was roughly the max time to qualify for the meet. Half the field finished above 16:00 What gives?

(a) post, disseminate, or transmit any content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, obscene, harmful, libelous, or invasive of your own or another’s privacy;
Just common sense.
Not that you probably want to spend the money on an attorney, but I have a hard time believing them banning you would hold up in court. You know, that little thing in the Constitution called free speech.

Except that there is probably some legal text that says they can deny issuing press passes for almost any reason. That's why you can't just show up and say you are press and get in.
rojo: Make sure that you understand your audience, and which is the cart and which is the horse. Traffic on your site is driven by the boards. We can get interviews elsewhere. The message boards are supporting your hobbyjournalism, not the other way around.

Marks set in multis do count as open records. They would not count for a championship record though.
So for example, you can set a world record, American record, ncaa record, etc in a multi.
You can't set an "ncaa championships meet record" though for the open high jump, long jump, etc. But you could set the meet record for the "pentathlon high jump", for example.

Ironically, I replied to rojo's original post (which claimed "your right to express yourself is being threatened") by pointing out that they heavily moderate these forums to remove dissenting opinions. My post was almost immediately removed...
Kendall Williams NH in the HJ really helps out the Oregon Women though Georgia still has 3 others in the HJ plus a sure 10 points in the TJ.Think Georgia was picked for 12 points in the HJ they might not get that now. GO DUCKS

I disagree here. 4:26 pace is not tempo pace. And the first mile of that 5k was 4:16????? So there is no way. I had this convo today on a run, when I watched Cheserek run that 3k, I honestly think he could have had WAY more, but he was okay and content with where he was time wise, and because no college kids were in the race, he didn't have the need to go to that extra gear, heck he set a PR by what, 7 seconds? I think he will progress just fine in the PROs. Look at how well Jenkins has come along with running being his entire life.

Your taking the word tempo to literally. He ran 1 mile at 5k pace, and ended the race 30sec slower than his PB. Run a 5k 30sec slower, you will feel warmed up.. Not worn out.
As for your second point, nobody becomes content in a race. Especially somebody like him. He was outclassed, which is expected. I'm not arguing about his progression of he turns pro, I'm arguing that what he did last night in the context of his other perfmances, was a solid night at the office, not the "best double in history".
