Does nobody recognise that a runner in fine form can run faster that his old PB? People had no problems claiming (correctly) that Kiprop could get close to the world record despite his PB being 3:27.7 (big improvement to 3:26.0). But it is impossible for Farah to run faster than 12:53, because his personal best is 12:53. Hmm, circular logic fail. Or perhaps it's the anti-Farah effect.

No the problem is that you keep lying and making things up. When did people say Kiprop could get close to the world record? The only person I saw saying that was Ventolin.

You also clearly don't know what "circular logic" means. Just because some of us don't think Farah is the GOAT doesn't mean we are anti-Farah. You keep making things up.

That only becomes the "real question" if your premise is correct. Your premise is that you seldom or saw Geb finish someone early, so therefore he couldn't or wouldn't; but such premise is INcorrect.

If both Haile & Farah had run against each other in their respective primes, at the same time, it's possible that Haile might lose a race or two to Farah, due to Farah's kick. (and that's still just a maybe) But Haile is way too much of a driven winner to let that trend continue, and he would quickly change strategy to whatever he needed. One such strategy is mid-26's, which has to happen virtually from the gun, hence "finish him off early."

In 2012 he climbed to the top with the Olympic wins. Since then it's pretty obvious he is doing everything he can to minimize his risk of losing, as losing would hurt his "brand". That means purposely avoiding any fast races. How else could he be undefeated and run the 31st and 66th fastest times of the year?

If Mo Farah himself is not confident that he can win in a fast race, and so avoids them, then I am not going to be one to argue with him. I pick Haile.

Thats the same reason i don't like to watch Mo. Runners with big fire balls are much more fun to watch. Run a WR or die try-ing!

If EPO use in track was so widespread, and effective, I would have expected better times from rich nations who struggle to beat their own times from the pre-EPO 80's. I guess the cyclists used up all the national supplies, and the East Africans have no cyclists to share with.
