I've seen more "talent" never match itself. Talent is best defined as potential and potential is defined as something you've never done?Having said that, I follow Jager and do believehe can medal. Until then I'll keep following his potential and see him go sub-8.

He once again proves to be the best talent the U.S. has seen since Webb.
Talent is not based on winning medals. It means he has the potential to win medals.[/quote]
Looked like Rowbury intentionally gave Simpson tons of room as she tried to pass her on the outside on the homestretch, but then ran out of gas.

Another 3 thriller. I've been saying all along that Mercy Cherono is underrated. S.
Where have you been saying this "all along"?

Great jumps by Barshim. Look at the all-time list to see how good his day was (=3rd best performance ever I think)

Right here on Let's Run.
you also predicted kiprop would win the 1500, rowbury would beat simpson and a handful of other things that never happened. Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Cherono shouldn't have been underrated to anyone. She's only lost one 3k/2 mile race this year. That loss was to Obiri, who was in amazing shape at the beginning of the season.
Sal's guys seem like they are crossing the line, so you always criticize them while someone like Gatlin with two doping violations is getting love?? And it's no achievement for a 10k guy to beat Kiprop and Manzano in a 1500m? Let's face it: Rupp was in the running in a 1500m, but boxed and he is not a guy now with a high sprint max. In a more evenly paced race, he could have run 3:31-2 today. 55/58/58 from the leaders is not the way for him to get a major pr.
Since JG came out publicly in support of homosexual marriage last year, as reported on LRC, he was immediately no longer referred to as "drug cheat" Justin Gatlin by the hypocrite Johnson bro's but is now "society role model" JG? Apparently if you agree with the LRC's liberal political agenda all doping transgressions are to be forgiven.
It's notable that Salazar's coaching has gotten Rowbury almost all of the time barriers they wanted to break this year. She started at 2:00/4:00/8:31/15:00 and now she's run 3:59/8:29/14:48, quite solid at each of them. She's not leading the race or pushing the pace like Simpson, but she's had a great year and set herself solidly up for trying to come back on tiring leaders. In fact, I would ask whether she can take some more risks next year in terms of getting in position to challenge for more wins by getting closer to the lead with 400 to go. She might want to find an 800m next week to get that last barrier.
Rowbury has adjusted nicely to Salazar's training. She had a rocky start during indoors and early in the outdoor season, but her racing of late has been very competitive.
She has only been training with the NOP since last October
Hopefully she will be even better next year after a year of Salazar's training under her belt

Tell that to the 8% of people who said he'd break 3:30.00. They honestly shouldn't be allowed to post on here.
Weldon gave me permission to offer $3,330 as a guarantee that wasn't going to happen but I was on a train this morning and forgot to post it.
The village idiot strikes again. rojo, is wejo the executor of your trust fund? Why do you need his permission to dribble away your livelihood? I guess that the feeble minded shouldn't be allowed to handle their own affairs. BTW, to whom were the $3,330 going to be given?
of course the brosjo support the drug cheats gatlin and radcliffe
mommy gave me permission to offer 33 cents as a guarantee that rojo wouldn't write a comprehensible post today, but I forgot to because I was playing with my trains

Don't get me wrong but I respect this guy a lot for making the most of a second opportunity.
You are so inconsistent... you can't even say the words "Mary Decker" without saying "drug cheat."
Exactly right.

She has improved her 1500m PR by less than a second. You make it sound like Salazar has done something miraculous.
Gotta give him credit though. He's got everyone thinking in his program is so incredible but the results are really not all that special. Farah is his only real special result and even that is kind of debatable. Salazar is a public relations genius.
Who's giving Gatlin the love? Certainly not Tim Hutchings or Stuart Storey who bring it up every time he races.

Well.. I guess a 12 second PR at 5k isn't good enough for you either.

A 1 second PR in the 1500 for a mid-distance runner of her age and stage of career is significant. And setting PRs at 1500, 3k and 5k (plus AR in the 2 mile) in the same year means she is in much better shape. The coach should get some of the credit.
American men regularly now run sub 13 5k and sun 27 10k but marathons stuck at 2:07. What gives?
