he was an all star that year. If were good enough to play pro football or basketball he'd be doing it. Anyone who thinks otherwise is just being a track fanboy. Ashton Eaton going head to head against Lebron James in a competition would be hilarious.

I loved Bo Jackson. He had more flair than Hershel Walker but I thought Walker was a better athlete. Bo also gets these mentions because of a huge ad campaign. That said, lesser athletes were better running backs - Sanders, smith and Payton. However, the multistory argument is not convincing. Look at Galen Rupp. He was a very good soccer player. He may have gone pretty far if he pursued it. Thankfully he did not and he pursued track. Reaching the NFL is itself a great accomplishment but I think NFL fans would be stunned to see how badly the top players would lose a 100, 200,400 or 800 to Bolt, Johnson or Rudisha.Same goes the other way of course - Bolt would be better than most at soccer or football but would struggle against the best.Bo played two sports. He was not the best at either but he was great to watch.

How someone can flop while getting randomly shoved when looking the other way is beyond me. Obviously he made no intense effort to stay on his feet, but I wouldn't consider that flopping. But yea obviously NFL is a whole different level, but Lebron actually was an all-state reciever first-team as a sophomore, so it definetly seems like he could succeed at a high level of football.

I never followed Eaton before, but to the guy pointing out that because he never made it in a major sport makes him not a great athlete is ridiculous. Are you telling me Eddy Curry is more athletic than this Eaton dude or whatever his name is?
