david rudisha and adrian peterson.
I don't know about Peterson, but what else can Rudisha do but run the 800m?
If you tell me I'm going to be competing in various sports, to be determined, as a team of 3 over the next few weeks, and I can pick 2 guys... I'll take LeBron James and Ashton Eaton.

+1 = exactly the two guys I had in mind. Except maybe there is some other smaller NBA guy who can run better than James.
Currently LIVING, not COMPETING.
So I will go with:
Muhammed Ali, Pele, Michael Jordan, Usain Bolt.
Sorry I know, those are four.

Eaton is obviously a stud, but who knows what kind of sport-specific coordination and skills he might have. We know LeBron is going to be a beast at everything.
I might actually take someone like AP over AE, but it's definitely close. If we knew at least some of the sports were going to be track-type things, then AE gets the nod.
Jeff Gordon
Dick Weber
Herschel Walker and Herschel Walker on a bad day

Lol that post was about LIVING players. Two of the three you named are dead last I checked.
floyd mayweather said he is because he has NOT lost as a pro in 17 years, tiger woods has lost, labron james has lost, pele and messi have lost, joe montana has lost, hell even usain bolt has lost.

From my perspective, hurdles, pole vault, long jump, shot put, discus, high jump and javelin all require sport-specific coordination and skill.

You have that exactly backwards.
Eaton has shown to be VERY GOOD at various sport specific coordination and skills.
Lebron has only shown to be a beast at basketball.
