I've got Caligula (Penthouse Cut) on an old VHS tape and I've tried to watch it many times but have never been able to finish the entire movie. The orgy scene and the drunk guard forced to drink the wine and then stabbed in the gut does have it's merits.
So so far, we have 3 actual "walk-outs" on Pulp Fiction and 2 almost-walks (I was thissss...close. My buddy I was with was ready but I made him stay)
Is that the leader?

I'm kind of surprised by this. I get that Pulp Fiction isn't the type of movie that everyone would love, but I don't know how anyone could find it so horribly boring that they just couldn't stand it any longer. Can someone explain why it is such a walkout worthy movie?

Right, you should absolutely NEVER just try something to see if you like it.
I very rarely watch movies, so I only go to the theater if something is showing that I am particularly interested in, but I can certainly understand why a person who likes movies would go to a showing even if they weren't 100% sure they'd like it. I go to restaurants I'm not sure about all the time. Sometimes they suck. Sometimes they turn out to be great. I love good food, so it's worth the risk of paying for a bad meal to have the chance of finding a great new place to eat. I suppose the same idea applies to avid moviegoers.

I hear you, and even though I was one of the ones to almost walk, that fact that others agree with me surprises me because I thought most people loved it. (and when I watched it later, I did like parts of it, and can see some merit)
I tried to explain what it was for me: it wasn't about being bored. look at that opening scene: it just seemed so forced, so affected/contrived, so over-the-top, so overly self-conscious (hey everyone, I'm Quentin Tarantino, and aren't I witty and cool the way I made this scene?), and I thought the chick's acting was horribly annoying and over the top and not believable. I guess I was taking it all too seriously, but it just annoyed me.
But I stayed, and I've appreciated other parts of it.

I mentally walked out of Bad Boys 2 by falling asleep. That movie made less and less sense as it went on.
Also walked out of tree of life, which I had expected to enjoy.
Fargo. I kept hearing how good it was, and even tried to watch it two subsequent times in case I was just missing something. Couldn't stand it.

I was a youngster, and my parents pulled us out of Indiana Jones' "Temple of Doom". Coincidentally, after much public backlash, it was that film that engendered the "PG-13" rating. At that time, the MPAA only had G, PG and R ratings.

Ha, Tree of Life... I saw that and liked it, but I'm into weird crap that often doesn't make any actual sense. I would expect most people to dislike that movie.
I'm pretty surprised by a lot of the responses here. People seem to either dislike popular movies or have no idea what they're going to for the most part.
My dad used to take us to the theaters but would only allow G and PG movies, so we saw a lot of really bad movies. I remember falling asleep during "For Better or for Worse" with Tim Allen. Everyone said they'd wished they'd fallen asleep as it was terrible.
The worst movie I've ever seen in theaters was "The Lorax," and the only goddam reason I went to it was because a girl I was workin' on at the time wanted to go see it. After sitting through that PoS I decided it wasn't worth it and never called her again.

Probably my only personal regret surrounding my father's losing battle with cancer is taking him to Avatar in 2D at the insistence of my siblings who had seen it (in 3D, to be fair). Even in 3D that had to be painful.
Lol the last movie I saw in a theater with him prior to that was the abominable "Independence Day".
