Keep in mind Oregon has missing it's top 3 runners and 4 true freshman placed higher running unattached then Oregons "top 5" that race. This won't be Oregon year but the next 4-5 Oregon will be owning Cross Country not to mention both mens and womens track and field :)
The only question is which Luke takes first and which Lukas takes second lol
Speaking of Standford, what about the Rosa twins? Are both running, only one of them running, or are both not running at all? I remember one of them being injured, but haven't heard too much stuff on them this season.

14:12 or 14:06 makes little difference (the exact number is a factoid of essentially no relevance to the issue at hand). The issue is that there is still more than half a minute difference at 5000m and Ahmed is going to be better at 8k and 10k than he is at 5000m and LV, at this stage, will likely be worse at those distances. Since Ahmed is not even being touted as a top five guy in this race and he dominates LV in the comparison, then he is certainly not going to dominate those that are better than Ahmed (logic A > B, B > C, thus A > C, where C is LV, and A are the top 5 on peoples list in this thread).
The weather forecast looks like it could affect the nature of the race. Currently the forecast calls for slight chance of rain but it would have to be light because the dew point is forecast to drop down to the low 40s then high 30s, so the RH will drop to 50% with temperature climbing into the high 50s.
However, the key factor will be the wind, which is 18mph, gusting to 28 mph (at 10m, lower at ground level, but the course is relatively open so it will be windy (bring a jacket, not shorts). Thus, running at the front on the legs into the wind. The direction is out of the ESE, the race starts to the south with the longer legs going generally north or south, so often it will be a cross wind. You can run along the side of the course to diminish the wind draft of someone following you (think bike racing and echelons with cross winds).
A lot of people are overlooking Ahmed given his true strength lies in XC and not on the track. He beat Baty,Cabral, and Estrada last year. We might not see him at his best here with Wisconsin's typical pack running style but Nationally it wouldn't surprise me to see him top 5 at nationals. Looks to have good genes as well with his East African background? Eritrian possibly?

LV in HS was clearly superior to Derrick, Fernandez and Puskedra in HS. Seems like they kept up pretty well at NCAA's as freshmen (please don't waste your time and mine telling me that GF didn't finish, thanks). Just sit back and watch. Come the big dance you won't be able to find a hole deep enough to hide in.
The catch is that LV is not racing them in high school. He's racing them NOW. Have you forgotten who holds the 5000m American Junior Record?
Those guys that haven't raced yet will have to show a LOT just for Oregon to avoid a rout at the big dance. There's a reason why coaches have Oregon ranked #10, after all. Fernandez, Derrick, and others are WAY faster than Lukas has ever shown.

Yes, I have been able to run on it any time that I have wanted. I usually ride to it but you can drive and park in the lot next to the course, which is never full except for during a meet. The course markings and maps make it very easy to fallow the route and to keep track of your pace (last k is short a little bit, as that split is always about 20 seconds too fast. I suspect that they will make an adjustment when they configure the 10k course for the Regionals. It would make a good place to XC ski as well, but I do not know if people try that and the road in might not be plowed on a regular basis.
