The same gay roles over and over again: Mel Gibson, Selleck, Cruise, Schwartzeneggar, Jeff Bridges, Johnny Depp, Mark Whalberg. Those are West Hollywood bathhouse boys.

Steve Carell...
he's hilarious, but he's played the same character he played on the Daily Show in 40 Y.O. Virgin, The Office, etc
WHAT?!?! In NOOOO way are those characters all the same. You must be delusional!!

Morgan Freeman: Ex-Cop, Cop or Incarcerated.
You are correct by mentioning Morgan Freeman, but for the wrong character. Morgan Freeman, for the last 10-15 years, is always the somewhat old guy who is ridiculously wise and constantly gives advice that attempts to be profound. I mean, he played GOD in one of his movies. How much older and wiser can you get than that?

Can't believe it took 4 pages for someone to say the only true answer.

Wasn't he a commando in some movie?
Tommy Lee Jones- A law enforcement person tracking down a possible killer.
How has Michael Cera not been mentioned more?
He is the best possible example.

Angelina Jolie, people!
Hey now, I don't care if you're right or wrong, you're wrong.
But I have to give +1 to Meg Ryan.
I also disagree with Will Smith and I'm not sure if this was a troll or not. His personality does shine through many of his roles, and I think his directors like that; but I can name several movies or scenes in movies where his own idiosyncrasies have been removed and it's still a great movie: Ali, Pursuit of Happyness, Shark Tale (just kidding), I Am Legend (for example, the scene where he kills his dog).
