I eat McDonald's maybe a couple of times a year. Usually on a road trip where options are limited. But I stopped a couple of months ago because someone said their chicken sandwich wasn't half bad. And they were right. And honestly, only slightly behind Chik-fil-a.

Only in Hawaii (and the original McD in Downey, CA) does McDonalds have the original deep fried apple pies - the ones that still burn your tongue when you bite into them. I grab one of those now and then.
When I'm on the road and have to leave early McDonald's is a good option for breakfast. If you have to be out early, say 5am your options are limited. McDonald's breakfast has options which are decent and you know what you're getting. Is it great, no. But for early morning it's something safe and easy.
In CA two Sausage McMuffins with Egg are 6 bucks, and you can add a large Ice Coffee for a $1.99. Not bad considering everything else at all fast food joints is through the roof here since employees get $20/hr because a certain group of people turned fast food into a career and are easily led by union leadrs who all consider themselves “el jefe”.
Anyway, it’s about 8 dollars for an OK breakast of two eggs, two sausage patties, two slices of cheese, two muffins. I have it twice a week before work. In before food snobs start screeching.
I do the same thing for breakfast twice a week, except I get a large hot coffee, not an ice coffee. McDonalds has the best fast food coffee, and it doesn’t taste burnt like most Starbucks offerings. Evey couple of weeks I grab a Quarter Punder with Cheese, fries, and a large unsweetened Iced Tea for lunch. Just because. Well, also because the line at In n Out is always a mile long.

Have you ever seen a busy, crowded fast food restaurant in action? I respect those workers. Most of them work quickly, efficiently, all while taking crap from unruly customers.

Those jobs were originally designed for youngsters to get a taste of work and for people to nab a part time gig if needed. In CA those jobs now go mostly to immigrants who are natural socialists (look at their home countries), people who believe they should make as much money as the business owners , who are always portrayed a “the enemy”. Which is why the communist led service workers union in CA is now bucking to jump the pay to $30 an hour to start. The real reasons behind this are many, killing off fast food as a business and driving away the middle class are but two. The unions actually care not at all for the workers.
