just watched him literally push Colton Sands. Are we kidding? that was entirely on purpose and you can't even say he did it out of tiredness. he smiled after doing it. just shows how ridiculous how the sport has become.
One of the easiest DQs I've ever seen in track. This sport is a joke if that's not called. Drifted from lane 1 to lane 3 after diving sideways. Wtf are we even doing if we don't penalize these idiots?
Hocker's DQ was justified and this scenario was 10x worse and more obvious.
I’m not a fan of his attitude because I think he’s a bad role model if he can’t have a healthy attitude about losing, but you’re just toxic. Can’t you replace? He’s a loser with he’s a mentally troubled individual who probably needs therapy
The wildest part was when Marco suddenly dropped to the floor right after he cut off the other runner. It really felt like a dramatic move to shift attention away from what had just happened. Instead of acknowledging that he stepped into the other runner’s path, he turned it into a whole scene and tried to make it look like he was the one who had been wronged. The way it played out almost felt like a performance — going from being the one who caused the issue to acting like the victim in a matter of seconds lol.
I think he should be DQed, but why the double standards from LRC? Paul Chelimo had a lot of defenders on here when he pulled crap like this. Anyway…
Marco Langon!
I think all lane drifting should be a DQ. Especially when Chelimo would start the final stretch in lane 1 and finish in lane 4. Dude is a clown.
DQing this even the day or week after the event by the national governing body could help. Let the runners know that their times / results won't count if they do this.
This is actually too strict. Common to unconsciously drift to lane 2, especially when fatigued and on a tight indoor track. Judges should use their discretion. In this case they failed, this is an obvious DQ.
Actually perfectly reasonable if you ask me. Nobody just “drifts into lane 2” on the final straightaway; its a micro aggression to cut your competitor off if hes coming for you from behind. Unless you have mental problems, its really clear that if youre in lane 1 at the final straightaway, staying in that lane is the fastest way to the finish.
Unless youre literally seeing stars and literally cannot control your body to stay in your lane, which is ridiculous to even say, it should banned. Nobody is blacking out so hard at the finish that they swivel over another lane. Maybe you can squeeze the outside of lane 1, but going into lane 2 is just saying to your competitor behind “i know youre coming for me, and im gonna make it as hard as possible to”.
I do appreciate dudes like Hocker that just capitalize on these idiots, and take the inside. But still, its unfair, and it carries major risks. Can seriously get hurt if the one in front cuts inside again, which definitely can and does happen.
People just allow this behavior because everybody does and its considered “normal”. Its tolerated. It shouldn't be honestly. Marco definitely exacerbated it though, easily a dq
Not defending Marco in this instance, because I do think this one was worthy of a DQ, but the idea that nobody drifts into lane 2 unless they're cutting off a competitor is very wrong.
Tons of people drift into lane 2 when sprinting to the finish, even with no one around them. It is an extremely common phenomenon, despite it being a suboptimal path to the finish line.

What rule violation will back a DQ for contact after the race is over since that's what happened in this particular race?
