I'd say Mantz was a 51ish guy in HS since kids run fast 400s and are very speedy this is quite obvious since we see a lot of 14:30-15 minute 5k runners run 49-50 400m and still can go 4:10 or faster in the mile. But as he moved up into the mara's I think he reduced the amount of anaerobic sprint speed training load and focused less on sprint speed. So my safest bet would be around 53ish right now and he's aerobic based so that would be my safest bet.
I grew up in New Holland PA, and my mom's house is down the street from Shady Maple. There are no f---ing oil fields anywhere near there. You lying idiot.
And another giveaway, and I could be wrong here, but the Amish wouldn’t consent to having an oil company drill directly on their land would they? I can’t quite make out from his writing if he means just a pipeline through Amish country or the oil dig sites themselves. I could see an underground pipeline, but I doubt an Amish society would allow Dahl’s make believe oil company to dig there on multiple sites. They are pretty anti-industrial and you need electricity to run all the equipment. It’s a dead giveaway that his story is all lies. It’s so funny though.
Eh it kinda depends on the denomination, some of the Plain folk around here are Amish but most are Plain Mennonites who vary in strictness. Most of them use modern farm equipment, and many have electricity in their homes and barns. Then there's some Mennonites who are fully modern; I went to (and ran for) a Mennonite high school and a Mennonite college that taught all subjects, used as much tech as any school, and at which almost everyone dressed on the more modest side of normal. Getting back to the deluded dipsh-t's nonsense, I can't speak for all the Plain folk but the ones I've known probably wouldn't mind selling their land to an oil company if the price was right. The point is moot, however, because his story is such an obvious lie. Neither UPenn (which is in Philly a few counties over) nor Penn State (which is hours away in State College) are anywhere close to being within running distance of here, and are even farther apart from each other. I'm genuinely curious as to what is motivating this weird moron to spin such an easily unraveled yarn about his own life. From what I've seen here, he claims to be decades older than he actually is, insists that he is significantly faster than his true PBs, and isn't even a real coach -- did I catch all that correctly? Miss anything?

You got it down perfectly. He’s a pathological liar. His motivation? Difficult to know for sure. If you type in Barrett Dahl’s YouTube page, it is plain and obvious that he is crazy from watching even half a video. Having said that, it isn’t obvious if he is actually delusional or if he is just so unhinged that he just wants to be a mega troll for attention. I tend to lean towards him being the ladder because he instigates Malmo so much and he starts so many inappropriate threads that it looks like he is trying to instigate as much as possible to see what he can get away with. He definitely has mental issues, as is easily confirmed from multiple news sources covering him as part of a public fight he had with a government official some years ago. But I don’t think being crazy necessarily means he actually believes he is a real coach, raced for D1 colleges in the eighties, has these respectable PRs he claims, or that he is an heir to wealth from a make believe oil company. I think he is knowingly lying to spam the board so that he can aggravate as many people as possible. Many posters have requested he be banned, but the owners refuse to do it for any number of reasons. So there you go.
Park City is a lot further than 30 miles away from Logan, Utah where Utah State is located. Try over 100 miles. Anyways, Mantz lives down in the Provo/Orem area where BYU is located which is 125 miles from Logan and 45 miles from Park City. Why must you continually lie about everything? Is your life that much of a disappointment?
The Mantz-Rupp comparison helps. Rupp ran 3:50i, so basically he is 1 sec/400m faster over a mile than Mantz. I suspect their differential increases as the distance shortens, so I would guess Rupp has 2 sec on Mantz in a 400m. Rupp once said something to the effect that he had confidence he was the only guy on the starting line of a marathon who could run a 49 sec quarter. Let's assume that means a 49 high with a running start. Adding 2 sec, I'll give Mantz a 51 high with a running start.

Your claim is completely unscientific but it could be right. It is just a hunch though.
