All the ad expressed was that illegal orders should not be accepted. Do you disagree?
I think this is a very dangerous ad. Do the service members really, objectively know what is legal and what is not? Presumably if the order reaches them, someone in that chain of command above them think it is legal. Who are they to basically override that judgement? I don't think we want those lower down making that determination, which since we are all human might be swayed by political leaning.
your point is that we should not worry their little heads about their legal requirement to obey only lawful orders?
I don't really see your point.
Everyone in the armed forces is trained not to obey unlawful orders. Reminding them of that should not be at all controversial.
By decimating the JAGs, Trump has made it harder on the officers to get legal advice. Which makes it a good time to remind them of the law.

I would find your argument more compelling if it was a bipartisan group in the ad. This seems clearly a political ad, if nothing else insinuating there are illegal orders being given and also perhaps planting the seed to not follow some orders if they do not seem "legal" (or perhaps against one's beliefs). No doubt if something bad happens related to this they will say of course, that's not what we meant.....
Agreed. TDS has consumed the left wingers for over a year, it's almost too hilarious to not laugh. Sad little insane left wingers.
Another way to look at this, Trump is the most despised person in the history of the United States. Not even Hitler or Mao could come close to how much hate and despise Trump and his family gathered. That’s a certain kind of achievement.
You sound like the McGovern supporter in 1972 who didn't know anyone who voted for Nixon.

The military has taken this seriously for decades and service members receive education on determining the legality of orders. That is one of the things that JAG officers do.

You make up 30 percent of population. There are another 30 percent who are strongly against you on every turn, and the remaining 40 percent just discovered you as hypocrites instead of the “law and order” conservatives. Trump is the most unpopular president in the United States history. Nobody even came close to his unpopularity, not even the worst dictators in human history.
