Sadly Natalie Cook shown as DNF by 2k in Wisconsin. Perhaps really DNS.
Olympian Juliette Whitaker finished 26th in the B race. Good to see her racing at least. I saw her in Tokyo during Worlds (supporting her sister, I thought) and wondered if she was taking more time off.
I think that is what I will conclude when I review results. Basically what I thought before. Alder faded badly today I think right?
Based on that performance, Alder is currently not relevant to BYU’s podium fortunes.
I’d have to go back and check, which I won’t do, but I seem to recall Alder is fairly inconsistent and is prone to bad days. But when she is on she can be very good and would be the #4 or #5 runner for BYU this year.

With their current depth, Coach Taylor has no need to risk inconsistency for the Natty’s seven.
I don't understand the situation of Minnesota's Ali Weimer, winner of the Nuttycombe B race. She is listed as unattached. That itself is quite strange, although I guess they're thinking long-term and she's preserving her eligibility for next year. But also, she was racing in her team jersey -- how is that unattached?

Alder was an All-American (39th) at nationals last year. Who's to say how she'll perform the rest of the season, but I wouldn't completely write her off just yet.

Whatever jersey someone wears in a race is inconsequential to them being unattached or not. If she didn't race as part of a team and didn't factor in team scoring she's unattached.
