When I saw the 51.60 I am thinking damn - maybe New Zealand runners are not so slow after all - that is the 400 meter hurdles. Then I saw it was for the flat 400 meters. Yeah, they are that slow after all.
They haven't caught up with American doping.
You just can't help yourself, can you? You should be nice to us, if China or Russia ever decide to take over your part of the world, only the US can save you.
Syd is going to do to the 400h and flat 400 what JJK did to the heptathlon, records that will last a hundred years.JJK’s 7291 set back in 1988 is going on 40 years now and no one has come within 200 points since.I see enduring into 2021.

She’s going 47 in the final. She was very relaxed here. She has a good bit still in the tank.
And I’d put her odds at the WR at right about 50/50.
I think 47 high is doable. I think the WR is a stretch.
She always looks relaxed, and I think it’s a fine line between relaxed all out and tightening up with her. It looked like she went hard for 385M to me. I predict 47.8X. I’d put WR odds at about 15%.
Sydney is very methodical in the 400. It may sound odd to say, but she’s truly sprinting now. Her earlier 400s were more like controlled strides, holding a steady cadence thru the 4 stages of the race. Shifting from a step-count approach around the track to actually sprinting the 400 took time. Running the 100 hurdles and the open 100 was all about getting comfortable with pure sprinting. She’s already hurdled a 400 in 50-point, so why wouldn’t sub-48 be realistic? Most men who hurdle 50-point run 46–47 in the open 400.
Men's hurdles are higher. If Sydney had men's hurdles, she wouldn't run 50. That said, I think she's got another 0.2-0.3 left for the Final. Naser might be right there with her, but I put my money on SML.
WTF would she have men's hurdles. Is she a man? You people are so weird and stupid so very often. Women hurdles are lower because on average women are shorter than men. Why is this not obvious to you?

One thing I think we'll all agree on, she has got to be the most boring Champion we've ever had in the sport. Every interview is 1 line about God, 1 line about execution and then disappear for 8 weeks.
So you're new to the sport? You do know that Knighton was busted?
As much as I disagree with almost all of your posts, I do not support ANY runner who is busted. I also do not cast aspersions on any runner who has never tested positive for anything just because they are a superior athlete like Sydney.
The point is you cannot be confident any athlete today is clean because it is known many more dope than are caught. And we see those caught include some of the best. Sadly, the better they are the more likely they are doped.
How do YOU do it? Post after post, thread after thread, day after day, week after week, year after year accusing athletes of doping. I've never seen anyone so obsessive about anything. You probably have over a dozen posts in this thread alone. Not saying anything new. Just repeating what you've already said over and over and over again.
Surely, you must be taking something to have such extraordinary stamina to make tens of thousands of posts accusing athletes of doping. What is it? Caffeine? Something stronger?

He must be on the same substance that has motivated the430miler to lie about being a college coach in San Antonio for many years.

I’ll be elated if she does break the WR though.
The best thing for her would be to win a close race in 47.80, that way she misses an obviously doped wr and is hailed as the clean wr holder.
Ruining her legacy by not racing. Look how popular Bolt and Duplantis are. Does SML have the same weight despite being so dominant?
She has, as you say, the same “weight,” if not more. She is probably the best known T&F athlete for those that don’t closely follow the sport and is almost assuredly the highest paid currently.
why are you saying the highest paid? You mean the highest paid in the USA?

Their hurdles are 3'0 though. Bigger differential between 400 and 400H.

It’s a response to another poster’s hypothetical comparison to men’s hurdlers’ flat times. Your point is obvious, but it’s not apples to apples.
The men’s hurdles are 20% taller than the women’s. Men’s hips are only about 10% higher than women’s on average and Sydney is taller than average at 5’9”. 30” hurdles do not pose as much of an impediment to her as a 6’2” male over 36” hurdles.

Felix was a relay queen. She was nowhere close to being a GOAT of either 200m and 400m when it comes to time. Her 200m PR is 21.69 and puts her at 8th all time. 400m PR is 49.26 and puts her in #31 in World and #10 in the US.

That will not work. That record needs to go. I hope she gets it. How many people hail ETH's 10.54 as the true 100 WR?
