They claim to look at aggregate results from actual performances of each class. In looking at their team, it looks pretty accurate. For every Turkington, there are plenty others that can’t break 16:30!
Chunko doesn’t Carew. He’s too busy running 14:00 miles in the Arb wearing Joma running gear as if it wasn’t some random brand he had never heard of before an athlete another coach made much faster signed with.
Kevin Turlington: A returning All-American, 2nd at MIAC's. Runs a 24:21.9, 30:01, and 14:11.84. If Bati doesn't return, he should be the conference favorite.
Why would Bati not return if he got 1 more year?
That is the question everyone wants to know. Technically, he'll have two outdoor seasons though. He'd be a big boost for the Gophers, but it is just as likely he wants to make money on the roads. After his 1:03:52 at Grandma's, I don't think a 2:12-2:13 is out of reach at the Twin Cities marathon for Mo. That puts him close to prize money.
Weird that nobody will answer this question. Why are Ihrke, Smith, and all the Johnnies so much more superior at the 8K then the Ole 800 group? And why are they loudly proclaiming themselves as the No. 1 4 x 800 in the country despite only 25 teams actually running it? Kinda like being named the nicest guy in prison or smartest kid on the short bus.

Stop playing dumb to take another shot at Olaf's coaching.
At every level but especially D3, there's not going to be a perfectly smooth line of performances across distances. Never before has that been chalked up to bad (or good) coaching.
I was in the MIAC long ago. DCG could win any race at the MIAC 600m-10k on the right day. Everything behind him in every race would be a crapshoot.
I beat guys in 600s and 800s that destroyed me in the 8k. Some of them even had faster 400m times than I did! Sort that out one out.
I think that’s the argument he’s making. DGC was top level and could do it all just like Ihrke and Smith. It’s a huge flaw in Ole training that their athletes can’t run across events.
Turlington has barely broken 2:00 and some of their studs haven’t broken 26:30.
As for runcruit, they use times of all the tram members. Power doesn’t want to acknowledge he has slow team members but those times are accurate.

"My 1:51 guys can't run 25:00 and my 24:30 guys can't run 1:52" is a problem most teams will put up with.
I was one of those guys. I don't know what to tell you, I wish I was better at the 8k too. My coach did too. It just wasn't in the cards.
Looks like the Future continues to follow the Wilkinson path, just a bit earlier. He was unlikely to be challenged at any distance in the MIAC and possibly the National steeple, so it makes sense to move up. Given some better training partners, he'll likely run 4:04/3:44/8:36 this year.
8:36 would be top 25 in D1 this year. While a big jump, we'd be very excited for him.
Chunko has put his roster on TFRRS, no noticeable departures, but perhaps he doesn't know about his athletes in the portal. Speaking of the portal, has Mo enterered? Do we assume he's coming back to Augsburg?
Onky his 800 runners are in the portal right now. Rumor has it Nemecek and Moore both visited St. Thomas last week and McInturff is looking at staying close to home at North Central.
The only others that would consider transferring are Fitzgerald and Turlington, but they have resigned themselves to another year of being national level but not champions.
Not sure they have the dogs to be elite after graduating Cote, Hartney, Coffey, & Skemp. That's a huge loss for a program that outscored the rest of the MIAC in track but didn't see a ton of improvement from the others. Turkington and Iggy will be good point scorers. Then you're relying on a couple guys that have barely broken 15 in Gael and Deaver. Who their 5th will be is anyone's guess. I'd argue their top three isn't as good as Carleton's top three. But they also need their sophomores and Torte to step up to beat the Oles.
The future is no more… who will the MIAC turn to for riding now? Is all hope lost? Stay tuned
This is an interesting move since he'll be one of, if not the top track guys right away. They have one 1500m guy a few seconds ahead and the others are pretty far back. Other Goss would be their number two steepler after the Future. They only have one guy under 14:28 in the 5K, which isn't the Future's event, but it isn't massive jump in training partners you'd expect. Maybe some redshirts are hiding, but other than Ethan Moe, the top MIAC guys would be high on their roster. And, his coach was a NDSU grad and assistant, so I bet the training isn't all that different. I'm just hoping they gave him a bag of cash.
Why couldnt Ricks coach him to run an 8:10 at Carleton?? Just another example of the ineptitude of the Northfield Schools to fully capitalize on the talent they have walking around their campuses.
