Stay away from them. I consciously made decision to stay away from people who commit almost all crimes in NYC. It's always them. They have nothing to offer me. Otherwise, you're gambling with your life.

How weird is it that this happens on the same day that Carmelo with a "c" Anthony gets elected to the basketball hall of fame?
In any event, Karmelo with a "k" went to high school in Frisco, TX at a school that was a cross town rival of the victim's high school. Frisco is solidly middle class. Both schools have a very low title 1/at risk population. Karmelo played football and ran track. Being on a football team in a Texas suburb means that you have a really good life in high school. So, this kid was not a product of the streets and probably had a very bright future and may have had a chance at playing in college.
I saw a study a while back that looked at rates of violence (fights) among HS and college aged men. The study looked at two groups. Men who lived in the north and men who lived in the south. What they found is that men who lived in the north talked a lot of talk and were far more likely to make verbal threats. But men in the south were far more likely to actually start a fight. The reason behind the difference was that men in the south had a sense of "honor" that obligated them to fight when they felt that their honor was challenged. Men in the north did not have the same feeling about honor and did not think it was worth fighting over.

When we combine these figures, we see that Black and Hispanic New Yorkers, who represent 50% of the city’s population, account for an overwhelming majority of violent crime victims: 87.8% of murders. 73.9% of rapes. 71.8% of robberies. 77.3% of felony assaults.

You are speaking highly of a murdering POS who knifed to death a kid over something trivial? Are you an even bigger nut job than I thought?

Wow, you spent that much time over a coincidence versus what happened to an innocent young man who lost his life? I don't know what you do for a living but you are one heartless bizzare person.

That's awful. I competed in dozens of track meets for a big Texas school in the 90s, and I don't think I witnessed a single fight. Texas track meets just seemed like the safest, most peaceful place I could possibly be.

What I've seen is that Hispanic crime tends to be not as high and more targeted - fewer random, innocent victims(and a lot is from migrants as well). And when someone obviously unrelated (not a gang member) is mugged you tend to be a lot less scared you'll be shot.
29% of the population committing 32% of crime is slightly higher but not far higher. In Chicago (city I live in), they're roughly 30% of the population and about 15-20% of homicides depending on year. Not 30% committing 75-80%.
No discipline or consequences brings us to this place. This is how it ends.
How did this permissiveness, this fear of hurting people's feelings, fear of making them feel bad about being bad so we just DON'T, how did this help these kids or their families? Especially the victim, thats who I'm really concerned about.
I don’t think things are out of hand. We just have more people. People have always been violent, very violent, look throughout history. Problem is we only had about 2 billion people on earth up until 1920 or so, I think. Now we have 8 billion. Therefore, it’s simple, math, more people, more crazy people, per capita.

It's not about race. It's about poverty. White people in poor communities commit violent crime at about the same rate as black people in poor communities, in our society there is an overrepresentarion of black and Hispanics who are in poverty compared to whites, that's why there is more percentage of crime in those groups.
The objective of this study is to advance knowledge on racial/ethnic disparities in violence and the structural sources of those disparities. We do so by extending scarce and limited research exploring the relationship betwee...
We should be trying to help people get out of cyclical/generational poverty. Look back at recent history to see why there are more blacks and Hispanics in poverty than whites. It's lazy thinking to say it's about race.
Another interesting statistic is about mass shootings. Now, let's ask ourselves, why is there an overrepresntation of white males who commit mass shootings and school shootings compared to any other racial group? Something is going on there.

My theory is Hispanics would not be over performing if data can be separated from ones here illegally. I believe many of the bad ones in NYC are illegals. Many of them in gangs.

I know your overlords Trump and Elon have convinced you that you should no longer try to think critically, but anyone who completed junior high school would know that my point is clearly that you cannot just blame this on a breakdown of society in the hood. Frisco, TX is about as far away from the hood as you can get in the DFW area (ok maybe Prospect would win that). There is something more to this kind of violence. I spent 10 years working with HS kids in Ohio. I now have kids in HS in Texas. I have seen this first hand.

So, what you are saying is this black kid is far, far away from the 'hood yet still murders this young kid? What is your explanation why he senselessly murdered this young kid?
