What will they run? Will Teare make it close and what will Nordas do? My prediction is Teare makes it close but Hocker wins in 12:50
The clear reality is that Hocker is extremely suspicious. Going from a non factor in 1500m races to now breaking WRs left and right is laughable. This sport is a farce.
Hocker runs 12:53 and teare runs 13:01 after blowing up at 4k trying to keep up
Hockers 3k was astounding but we need to remember that he is a great 1500 guy who can run the 800 and 3k very well, we haven’t really seen anything to prove that he can keep up with grant beyond 2 miles
I disagree. He ran under 13 last year. This is the same guy who won Footlocker by 6 seconds. Same guy who pulled off the mile/3K double at NCAA's with only an hour rest and kicking down Teare. I think we see him as a 1500 guy because he has been so good at it, but I think he has range like Jakob and we are just starting to see what he can do at the longer distances.
i thought graham blanks was going to be racing today? anyone know what he's up to?
Last year he ran fall cross country, won NCAAs, ran a record 5k time at the BU season opener, didn't take enough time off, and promptly got injured.
This year he ran the Olympics, fall cross country, won NCAAs, ran even faster at the season opener, and... seems like he's making the prudent decision to go easy during indoor season.
He is entered in the 3k at BU last chance next week, not sure what the goal is there. Looking like a loaded meet, Wildschutt and Young will be there along with most of the OAC team and a bunch of others:
Event Entries: The event entries will be released to the official clerks for the declaration process and again once seeded for distributing hip numbers (section and position assignments). No running athlete should assume this...

right, thanks for the info. i knew he was going to race again this season bc he mentioned it in an interview after his 1500, for some reason i thought it might be this 5k.
but if he already has the world standard checked off since he ran 12:59, might as well keep things a bit slower and race a 3k

Has Hocker broken any WRs?
Yes the old 3k indoor world record. He doesn’t own the new one but he did break the old one
