A long distance bus ticket requires ID, and the authorities probably have direct access to the Greyhound data base of riders.
He used a fake ID at the bus station and at the hostel.
The person could also have used hollywood style face makeup, and other similar things to make themselves unrecognizable.
The image posted of the shooter appears to be a disguised female.
The "gun" used seems to have been a veterinarian's tool to kill animals at close range. They have damping attachment which muffles the sound (like a book being dropped).
This person is going to very hard to find. "Mistakes" made seem to be intentionally left diversionary fake clues.
No. They don’t have an identity or address. That would be one of the first things they release to the public to apply pressure in finding him. All they have at this point is a burner phone which is a dead end.
“But but but they surely have a recording of his purchasing the burner at a Walmart and must have triangulated his identity using very awesome cell signal tracking technology by now.”
Not what I said at all. Basically, you've lied or have comprehension skills. Good luck with that.
If he didn't leave the country early that day, they will absolutely get him
it's a question of resources, if the political will is there, finding one person is inevitable
with that said I'd love to be on his jury
They almost certainly have his identity because someone who knew him must have recognized and reported him. They just don’t have a reason to make the name public yet and doing so could also become a liability, but getting him is just a matter of time.
If he wasn’t forced to show his face at the hostel checkin, he might’ve actually gotten away with it. I’ve had hotel, liquor store, and even airport staff not bother to check whether the picture in my ID actually matched my face when masked.

Wow, repeat much? As I said, someone has already turned him in via his name. You read my post. Sorry that I had to help you out, but this video tells exactly what I said but you have zilch for simple comprehension. This will certainly get your dander up;)
The technology has been out for 16+ years. It’s just keeps getting upgraded. Don’t assume dudes are building precision bombs and IPADS, but cannot figure out how to identify people. Gotta go - someone’s already knocking at my door.

Yo idiot, I absolutely don’t care about your posts or small d!ck energy. Go cry in your soup elsewhere. Your stupidity is in full frontal display in your posts in the previous page, like I already pointed out. Don’t come back until you learn to read and write.
Mate you need a refund on your Ivy League education seriously.
This is a scenario
They have him on camera. They have his full facial features including eyes. Facial recognition can match that almost 100%. They can match video locations/times to cell phone pinging. So without actually knowing who’s phone, they can narrow down phones that have pinged in each location/time. It would be unlikely to be more than one phone after maybe only 4 locations/times of video footage. Then they can backdate every location/time of that phone. He probably now discarded it, so it’s historical data. As for the bus terminal without route that is probably a video only identification ie terminal but not bus
etc etc
you’re welcome
Sam
Just to recap this I posted in bed from my phone.
Facial geometry is very unique as a combination, i.e. eye separation, position and size/shape of nose, mouth, jaw etc to the point where facial recogintion software and pick it from a database, so that is just a question of time.
CCTV tracking is basic policing 101, just follow the cameras essentially , given that it is impossible to be in the city, or even suburbs, without 100% tracking.
A bunch of CCTV locations and times combined with cell phone pinging will give you rapidly diminishing common phones, depending on separation of location and time pretty much a unique phone carried by the subject within 3 or 4 iterations. Whether or not that is a 'burner', they can use that number to then backdate locations and times, match with more CCTV, i.e. now doing the reverse. If he disposed of phone that could explain terminus but not a specific bus. If they are lucky, there could be a point where he had both burner and a registered phone, then they have a name.
This is not rocket science. The police are not smart. I'm sure even rojo could do it.
It is pretty difficult to get away with anything these days unless you do the Justin Bieber thing someone mentioned, and even then they could find all the 'Justin Biebers'.
The only way to do it, with luck, is no phone, smart watch etc, don't get seen on any CCTV, disguise your morphology and gait, eg long coat with say a massive heel lift one side or change your whole height, cover your whole face, disappear into the ether.
On the subject of burner phones, it shows how out of date your constitution is and how selective you guys are about what you uphold from it. Even in darkest Africa, you have to have proper ID for a sim card, as you should
It's not a disgruntled insurance customer-it's a hit sponsored by his estranged wife, or a jealous husband. Slimmer chance that it's gambling debt or insider trading. It's not a guy who only got reimbursed 50 cents on the dollar for his Mohs' surgery.
First rule of premeditated murder-ALWAYS look to the spouse or significant other.
This was staged to look like a disgruntled insured. But it's not.
I like your logic.
Here is an article from the WSJ on how he escaped.

You didn’t read far enough, it turned out the guy was wrong. He didn’t use a citi bike. That is the problem with random internet sleuths. They often put forward incorrect leads.
The poster above is correct, you can get a burner phone anonymously if you are careful. The fact that he is still at large probably means they still don’t know his identity.
This is false. You cannot get a burner phone anonymously. You can have someone else purchase it, even at Walmart, but they will be on video and be caught.
Trust me, I know this factually;) Paying with cash is irrelevant. It's the transaction at the register that will get you. That phone will be traced to the store it was purchased at and to the exact minute at the register.
They know exactly when and where a burner phone was purchased regardless of the method of payment.
MANY people have murdered people and went to another town or state to purchase it and thought they were outsmarting the police. That is a fallacy that I know for sure;)
They will have video of that transaction to the minute and they will have video of who purchased it all the way out the front door of the location. I thought this was widely known?
Much better to live in a world where there is a higher chance of small-time crime than one where only the largest crimes are sanctioned by a corrupt murderous government and its crony corporations, who can surveil everyone with impunity, and have the resources at their disposal to fabricate virtually any story.
There is nothing good about the ability to track this guy or anyone across state lines, or internationally. That is IF he even did anything. I remember a similar story about a middle eastern guy who supposedly did a crime in New York, and denied it. Of course that didn’t stop the same folks seeding these stories from vilifying him without any process whatsoever and using the stories to start numerous wars for profit. Of course that’s if he existed properly in the first place.
On another topic, I like how the health insurers collude either government to mandate the purchase of their products at prices that they decide with so-called providers behind closed doors. Even if the statistical value of this CEO’s life was in the hundreds of millions, it is nothing compared to the ongoing con being orchestrated by the medical industry, insurance industry, and government. And there is no reasonable excuse for profiting from it. Shouldn’t be a death sentence, but it certainly isn’t adequately punished — perhaps because folks who would otherwise boycott and make it less lucrative are coerced by not participating. So the market is prevented from functioning and peacefully correcting the incentives. What could go wrong?
