There’s enough information out there now to make a logical opinion of the motive. The mystery man murdered the 50 year old Healthcare CEO because he was against the insurance industry. He wrote words on bullet casings that are similiar to a book written in 2010 against deceptive insurance practices. We can speculate that it could be personal from the assassin himself or friends / family, but that is still in the air.

Brian Thompson was an employee for UnitedHealth for 20 years and worked his way to the top. Whatever the shooter and some other Americans may or may not like about the company, Thompson helped create it.

News is also reporting that Thompson along with others were involved in an insider trading case investigation and that he had received threats recently. It seems plausible that one of the other execs implicated in the case may have wanted Thompson gone.

For years, the 2A freaks have talked about the government needing to be afraid of them while never seeming to notice that it's been the Oligarchs, like the wizard behind the curtain, pulling all of the levers screwing them.

It's not the government, it's not the wholly owned politicians, IT'S THE OLIGARCHS who are destroying the country and the world, but they're very good at misdirection and pitting us against each other.

Roughly speaking, the late Roman Republic was effectively what you're describing. Most of the Roman population lived in crushing and grinding poverty. Many slaves had better lives materially than even free Roman plebians. Assassinations of Roman elites were common place. Arguably, we're now approaching a similar level of oligarchic proliferation with the blatant corruption of American institutions all for the betterment of a small segment of the population who are indifferent to the plight of the majority.

Insurance is a particularly emotional topic. Most Americans who consider themselves middle class are shocked, shocked to find out how precarious their financial situation becomes when they have a property loss or health issue and their insurance policy that gave them peace of mind ends up reneging on their side of the bargain... All for a fat profit for the Warren Buffets of the world.

No you didn't 'fix' anything. The man behind the curtain, the OWNER of the politicians, is the Oligarch. He is above the law, holds himself beyond the people in every possible way, and needs to be reminded now and then that the people will rise up, find him and make him feel the same pain he inflicts on the people and the planet.
