Keep a few things in mind. 1-Chepngetich had 5th fastest marathon time before Sunday. 2-Sunday she beat WR by ~ 2 minutes and her pb by ~4 minutes. 3-5th all time women’s mile is 4.14
So to your comments using the mile instead of marathon it’s more like like a miler (female) with a 4.14 pb going out in 60 second laps and then winning with the first sub 4 mile ever. It’s more than a quantum leap on an already quickly (recently) accelerating performance improvement curve. That kind of improvement in that time frame doesn’t happen just based on a human body’s capacity to adapt.
Improving 4 min in the marathon is the same percentage as improving 8 seconds in the mile. So its not like a 4:14 runner going 4 flat, its like a 4:14 runner going 4:06. Not saying its likely, just that the previous poster's original comparison to a 4:20 runner all of of a sudden breaking the world record because they ran a fast 200 was a really bad analogy.
The post was a solid contribution to the prior posts. The point is to illustrate how improbable (impossible) this performance is for a female athlete based only on their training and WITHOUT an external supplement or performance enhancement.
By those standards Chepngetich’s performance NOT legit.
Chepngetich beat WR by 2 minutes and her pb by 4 minutes in 2 years (2022) after 7 years of progressing from 2.22!
So she actually accelerated her own rate of improvement as she entered the most the most competitive segment of athletics competition.
it was more than a quantum leap. It obliterated all prior standards and broke through the 2:10 barrier so the analogy of a female miler exceeding her pb, the WR and a significant performance barrier (sub 4 mile) is appropriate
Chepngetichs performance was fantasy. She completed the course in 209.56 but with help beyond her own self reliance.
Next Olympics are only 4 years away and they will be in LA. You can be sure that more and more attention will be given to these kinds of performances especially from Kenyan athletes that have such lax testing standards. Revealing the truth behind this most outcome would be a good way to start.
It's reassuring to know that the mods are determined to remove any comment that names this performance for what it is. The record has provoked scepticism and disbelief as much as for any performance discussed on this site but the mods have made it clear which side they have come down for.
You are such a whiner. There are hundreds of posts calling Ruth a doper.
I was just nostalgically noting Bill's 2:09:55 for historical perspective.
Based on our research and noting improvements by elites (e.g. Kipchoge), I would guess that Boston Billy could have run about 3 minutes faster in supershoes.
I think Clayton's 2:08 was the world record in 1977 and the women's record was ~2:35. So worldwide, men have improved about 8 minutes and women by 25.

It is good that Rojo had the guts to ask the question even if it was clear that no useful answer will be provided.
The issue with LRC "journalists" is that when you have been supporting a convicted doper for years, it is difficult to challenge somebody who hasn't even be convicted.
Of course, we know that people get popped only if they don't follow properly the protocol or if they were so unlucky to have the controllers come 3 times during a year at the wrong time (very unlikely, but it happens). But still the athletes should help us to believe of what they do is possible. Please just beat the world records by a little margin, it will be more credible.

She broke the road 30K record enroute by almost 2 minutes. She ran the 5th fastest Half time. She ran the second fastest road 20K of all time. She ran about the 45 fastest road 10K time of all time. She went out in 15:00 for 5K which would do well in a road race.

All I am saying is she improved her PB by ~3% which is massive. Thats not equivalent to someone improving their PB by ~6% (your mile WR analogy). Thats it. I recognized it was a quantum leap in my post, I was just pointing out that there is no need to exagerate the size of the quantum leap, a 4:14 runner running 4:06 would also be quantum leap too. Them running 4:00 would be a double quantum leap that far exceeds Ruth's quantum leap.
Lol you know I'm right. You always get ridiculously mad when one of your 1000 posts/month gets deleted 😆😆
I do notice when the mods delete a whole bunch of posts, as they did earlier in this thread. But most of mine stay up or you wouldn't have anything to shriek about, like you always do.
