You guys can't even get your own house in order before telling the rest of us how to live. Embarrassing. Anyway, you're welcome to the welfare checks the feds send to your state from the blue states, it would be even more of a dumpster fire without them.
California receives more welfare checks than any other state.
The majority of people receiving welfare in Alabama are Democrats.
You're ignorant.
Red states depend on federal subsidies to remain functioning. That money comes from blue states. That’s a simple fact. Without California to fund their lifestyles, red state quality of life would crater.
Interesting question posed to me over the weekend: Should the USA consciously uncouple for the good of the people?
Obviously borrowing the phrase from Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin. A friendly breakup, if you will. Realizing that many of the constituents just want different things from their government, could it be possible for the USA to break into two different countries and allow citizens to choose one or the other? Major resources would have to be shared, and it would require some compromise on both sides. It wouldn't necessarily be Red States go Red and Blue States go Blue, but lines would need to be contiguous. A intentional focus would be made to maintain a fair and peaceful transition. No one wants to fight, but there would be negotiations of course.
Once separate, the two new nations would be sovereign and borders would require passports, etc. Trade would be possible, so Blue could buy from Red, and Red could buy from Blue. Travel is possible.
It has happened in the past with other nations. Could it work for the USA? Especially if things get more divisive? It seems like a better choice than total a democratic breakdown or worse. Why wouldn't this work?
This is probably a good idea, mainly to avoid a future civil war. I do know one of the sides will have all of the Starbucks, theaters, spoken word poetry clubs, effeminate men indistinguishable from women, Targets, electric scooters, and fat overweight tattooed women with purple hair, and the other side will have me and all the other freedom loving citizens. The former side will ultimately collapse because nobody will work and there will be no competent men with real jobs to tax to death, and also because everyone there thinks being gay is cool and hip so nobody will reproduce.
It is obvious this is red. My guess is that most of the "fat overweight tattooed women with purple hair" is actually the red side. The home of the liars.
In my long life I have mostly voted red. There still are a few good senators and congresspersons in red. I might even vote for some of them. BUT I WOULD VOTE FOR ANYONE OTHER THAN TRUMP.
Hey adult in the room - you live in a red state? Remember to thank me next time you drive on a road or flip on a power switch. Glad to throw a little extra of my cash your way, brother. Helpin a friend in need 😎
Red states receive $1.25 for every dollar they pay in federal taxes.
They literally suckle at the teat of big government. Drinking the luscious Blue state nectar. They’re like our little kids we take care of. How cute.
Are you talking about the tax breaks Trump gives to the rich? I agree with that and I will be voting blue. But what else makes you say the red gets so much money from big government?
You're claiming the farmers in California are Democrats because it's a blue state.
You're lying or you’re ignorant. There's 15 million non-Democrats in California and most of the farmers come from that 15 million.
I said nothing of the sort. You’re acting like 63% isnt a huge difference. That’s almost 2 dems for every republican.
Math is hard.
Let’s stick to the topic of this thread. California is almost 2:1 democrat voting. Thus they would be “blue” and a huge piece of the welfare the feds pay to “red” would be gone.
There's 15 MILLION people in California who aren't Democrats. There are more Republicans living in California than there are in every other state other than Texas.
Alabama is 62% Republican. The majority of the welfare recipients in Alabama are Democrats.
You attribute 100% of the outcomes of every state to a single political party because you're an absolute moron.

There’s data on federal returns per tax dollar paid. Red states receive $1.25 for every tax dollar they pay to the feds.
Places like CA and MN only receive $0.73 for every dollar. They fund the existence of red states.

You are starting to get it!
None of this changes that if you live in a red state, every time you drive on a road or use power and water, or anything else from the state, you need to say “thank you Blue states for funding my lifestyle. I couldn’t live without you”

The problem with your proposal is all red states suckle at the teat of blue states in order to survive. Since they are financially dependent on blue states for nearly everything, it would not work out for them. An all-blue state USA, however, would be nirvana. Nearly everyone would prosper.

Yup. Red would never leave because they are completely financially dependent on federal money provided by blue states.
BLUE will win. But more importantly, BLUE HAS TO WIN WE CANNOT AFFORD TO MAKE THE MISTAKE OF LOSING. THAT IS WHY WE MUST PRESS ON EVEN IF WE SHOULD BE WINNING 350 MILLION VOTES TO 1.

California was the #1 economy in the country LOOOONG before it turned blue you imbecile.
The idea that California is wealthy because of Democrats is absolutely idiotic.
California has been in decline since you idiots took over.

And you're still too stupid to get it.
If you and 50,000 of your buddies are in a room with Elon Musk the room is "blue" but all of the wealth is still created by the red guy.

Democrats tried to form their own country in 1861 and you lost the war because your economy sucked.

We moved out of our nice house in a solid blue area south of DC because it became unlivable. Schools were horrible. When I coached soccer we were instructed to check the area and remove any broken glass. It was impossible to pick up all the shards. Traffic was nasty, and roads were full of potholes. I took early retirement and we moved to a slightly lower income, but predominately white/Hispanic/Asian area in the country. We didn't have to pay for private school, the roads are great, and our neighborhood is safe. Trump signs everywhere. Most of the richest counties in the United States are around DC. They produce next to nothing. They are a massive wealth transfer from the rest of the country.
