It looks like Pascal has her gear dialed in. Hopefully, he learned from the mistakes he made in 2020.
Pascal Dobert is one of the biggest cheats in track & field. He did it himself in Kenya back in the day and is a cancer for clean sport in the last 15 years and today.
I believe her previous personal best was just about 4 flat, so this was a huge performance for her. Those old times were a 2-4 years ago. She's been battling injuries since then and I think was not in peak form going into the Olympics. She's had a 14:26 5k - it would be nice if she could use the speed she just showed to take the American record below 14:20.
You won't get any peace while the AIU is still around.
Wrong yet again. I think AIU's powers should be strengthened, they should more than double their testing, and ban anyone caught for life. I know there are cheaters and want them removed immediately.
But you're the worst kind of coward - trying to anonymously trash everyone with zero proof because your delicate ego is damaged by other's success.

She ran 14:26 during the lockdown period of the pandemic with her buddy Shelby in a HS track time trial after eating god knows how many burritos.
I think Schweizer’s comparison to Whittni Morgan really puts Schweizer’s incredible and unusual performance yesterday into perspective. Both athletes had late starts to their seasons due to injury. Both athletes have been on an upswing. Both athletes have been continuing to train hard. Indeed, just two weeks ago, Coach Diljeet Taylor was imploring (encouraging) Morgan at a high altitude workout, “holy crap, 4:21, FINISH IT, FINISH IT!”
But in just 8 weeks time, Schweizer has flipped the table, crushing Morgan in a road mile by 8 seconds. That’s a huge 10-11 second flip in the athlete-to-athlete comparison.
Edit: Morgan beat Schweizer in that race by 0.2 seconds, not 2 seconds.
That was a case of Schweizer fading badly on the last lap having gone out real fast. Morgan ran a more evenly paced race as I recall (Sound Running LA in July).
Karissa was a teammate and training partner of Shelby’s. Birds of a feather…
I trained for a couple of Boston Marathons on long runs with teammate Bill Rodgers (and some others at the same time). Hey! I guess I was GREAT, because Bill was GREAT! Birds of a feather... I guess 2:35 is a GREAT marathon time! Thanks for setting me straight, Isie.
But Jenny Simpson was a world champion 1500m runner, two-time 1500m world championship silver medalist, and 1500m Olympic bronze medalist whose PRs in the 1500m and 3000m are 3 and 10 seconds faster than Schweizer's, respectively. Are super shoes closing those gaps?
Jenny's 3k PR is 4 seconds slower than Schweizer's, and her 5k PR is 30 seconds slower. If you're 30 seconds faster than someone in a 5k, you're going to be faster than them in a mile, even if you're not a true miler and they are.
No disrespect to one of the most decorated milers in history, but Jenny was mostly a great tactician with good closing speed who raced in a far less competitive era.
Less competitive era? In 2017 when Jenny won Silver for her last global medal the field included Faith Kipyegon, Sifan Hassan, Genzebe Dibaba, Laura Muir and Caster Semanya. That is a far more competitive field than the one in Paris.
Yes, the times were slower because runner didn't have supershoes and some of the other new enhancements, but if Jenney was in her prime today she would also be faster.

I said the same thing but my post got deleted. Strange

My ego has nothing to do with it. I am completely uninterested in what I could achieve on the sports field. What I see throughout the sport today are highly suspect performances and we know the reasons why, because of what has happened to the sport in recent decades. It is at every level in every sport and in all countries. It doesn't take much to see likely examples of it.
