Mary Cain is Going to Stanford

Did somebody say she is legacy? Please post the incorrect facts and the corrected ones. Several posters are violating the rules again by losing their tempers and making personal attacks.

Of course this is true, but many children follow in their parents careers, mostly because they know it exists and kind of what the daily grind is like, and secondly they have a ton of resources to help them enter the career.

This goes for law, academia, acting, music, entrepreneur, Wall Street, even pro running& management.

Ie. Child of Dr knows about volunteering as an EMT, stem classes,mcat, residency, pre-med requirements, AP classes, choosing the right undergrad college, importance of research, med school interviews, different types of Drs and specialties....and has seen and lived the affluent lifestyle it provides all by age 15.

An average kid only figures this out at about age 20, where they often become disillusioned realizing they are behind and may have to do 5 years of undergrad to complete requirements.

Bull. 1:59 & 4:04 in high school, world finals as a kid, U20 3000 world champ. You think you can do this with a lack of work ethic? On what planet?

How hard is it for people to just congratulate her? Stanford is a great school. Good for her. Hope she's doing well & is excited for med school.

Disappointing to read through so many negative comments & to see down votes on the positive ones. LRC really has a culture problem. Cain didn't do anything to any of you. She was a high school phenom & burned out at the pro level, after going through some really difficult things. You don't like her for what exactly? She doesn't owe any of us anything.

It's not like Galen Rupp and Alberto had it easy on here. And people only say positive things about Newbury Park runners. Phenoms are going to be scrutinized.

On the planet where Dr. Brown exists and where her family is rich so she never worked a real job as a teenager?

The average attention span of Mary Cain for the past decade has been 6 months to a year before she drops a persona and moves to the next shiny thing. What med school admissions in their right mind would waste any resources on someone as flakey as this when it takes many years to be a doctor?

Dude, just stop. You have no idea what you're talking about. Stanford rejected Larry Ellison's son for undergraduate admission despite Ellison being (a) a mega-billionaire, and (b) already a major donor to the university. On top of that, the Cains to my knowledge are essentially successful professionals but don't have the kind of money to buy admission to a university like Stanford, even if it were possible.

Is that why Mary Cain has the CEO of a major wealth management company that only serves very rich families as her personal play toy at AtalantaNYC? You don't have someone like that at your daughter's command without either being rich or having dirt on someone, or both.

You'll have to be more specific as I don't know who you're referring to. But given that Atalanta is a registered charity in NYC with some profile (Mary Wittenburg is on the board), I'm not at all surprised that some finance bigwigs would be involved in some way. You conspiracy theorists really are working overtime.

Look up Evan Roth. He is the CEO of BBR wealth management that is the main sponsor of Mary Cain's AtalantaNYC and Evan Roth is also the main board member of Mary Cain's AtalantaNYC. Ask yourself why the CEO of a major wealth management company that only serves the very rich would be under Mary Cain's beckoning.

How about: because it's a registered charity and, according to his bio, he's a competitive triathlete and runner? Only in crazy conspiracy world does his participation mean that she has "something on him" or that her family is mega-wealthy. Just a weird take.

If this fellow is funding her venture and sits on her board, he more likely has her at his command. That's usually how it works for the guy putting up the cash.

Is she unwilling to put in the time to become a real highly proficient doctor first?

Columbia parents raised her with an elete mindset.

She had success in a high school program many called the best in the country. Not good enough Mary-- so she went pro.

She and Coach Al Salazar may have not been compatible but hey that happens in a lot of other sports. Athletes move on and usually pick a more suitable coach, team, location. Not Mary --- she bailed out and stopped competing and constantly wailed about her problems that she should have mentally left behind.

Now med school. Hey good luck Mary -- I imagine it is a tough road to go down but if you have guts and are determined to make it you just might do so. Check out the movie "An Officer and a Gentleman." You got to want it. Do you?
