Bush did the same thing at nutty I think. Could be part of the plan to work them both back in. Have them start, just to be used to the race feel, and then run a bit and drop out. Seems to be working well for Bush getting back into it.

I did think it was telling that she started in second row

Bush was a late scratch because of the weather, coming back from injury. Here, Amaris ran through 5k and dropped. Her 4k splits were ok but it looks like she slowed through 5k. Maybe that was the plan?
Good win by the NC State women but they have some work to do.
They have too big of a 2 to 3 and 3 to 4-5 gap. Hartman faded too much as did Tyynismaa. Bush seems to possibly be on the right track in getting back.
Clemson's Chepngetich and Miami's Lavassas should hit the portal unless they're OK in their situation and like their schools.
I still have NAU as the favorite to win it all.
On the men's side, the UNC men were very impressive. THere's a good chance they'll be a top 5 at the finals.
Unc's men were good today but there was 30+ seconds between their 4 and 5. That's going to be a ton of points at nationals.
Also Tyynismaa didn't fade at all for the NC State women. The 4 splits she hit were 23rd-19th-13th-15th. she just dropped which is obviously worrying but its not like she thought she was in shape to run with Tuohy and Chmiel and then died.

Yeah, I posted before I saw that Tyynismaa was a DNF. What someone else mentioned above, Have them start, just to be used to the race feel, and then run a bit and drop out," is entirely feasible.
