I'm glad that backfired on NBC. They sent Lewis Johnson after Fred, Fred wasn't up for it but they pushed. I love the candidness.

i don't want to beat up on Lewis too much. Im sure he had producers in his ear pushing hard for that. A better interviewer would have reacted better to Fred's temperament, but it's nothing to do with him being a bad person, but just not amazing at his job.
From Lewis's introduction "we have had a SHOCKING development", to his repeated, pressured questioning "C'mon, you've been thinking about this for a long time, what HAPPENED here (as in right here this second of the race, not a general 'things didn't go how you wanted')." It's surprising to me that a former professional runner conducting that interview lacks that self-awareness in that moment.
Lyles is the strongest in the last 50 but his start isn't very reliable. Coleman is impressive. He is the favorite in my mind but close between him, Lyles and Seville. Tebogo and Hughes for the top 5.
What do you think the 5k split will be in the 10k? With a temp in the mid 80s and dew point of 67, could be very slow. Zero chance of a sub-27 winning time.
