that's a false accusation made up by Brosnan and his family.
If Vin wanted to get anyone fired, don't you think it would be Mike Smith?
Why would Vin be worried about a UCLA program that can't qualify a team to nationals?
Why would Vin get Mike Smith fired when Mike Smith didn't interfere with his team?
because xczvzxcv's post was dumb. he said Vin didn't think he could compete with Brosnan so he got Brosnan fired.
If Vin's primary focus was to fire coaches that were the most competitive, Brosnan wouldn't be on that list. Vin reported Brosnan because Brosnan was clearly tampering.
It was probably Duke that reported Brosnan though. The Frias transfer was by far the most sketchy. Duke even held her out of NCAAs.
what did he do exactly? all I saw was the recent article saying there were allegations--no one said what they actually were specifically. tampering how?

You have no idea what you're talking about. It doesn't prove anything. All 3 of those women knew Brosnan from high school. They grew up near each other and Frias and Barnett competed in many of the same meets as Newbury Park, so they knew each other teams and coaches pretty well.
Even when they were in college, Frias and Barnett could ask McDonnell any questions they wanted about how Brosnan was as a coach. These top girls text each other all the time.
Brosnan was clearly talking to them before they were in the portal. That's an established fact by now. It's not hard to delete messages so the NCAA can't find the violations.
McDonnell was probably texting Frias and Barnett because Brosnan told her to (which is also a violation).
Brosnan has been proven to be a pathological liar. You can't believe his side of the story.
You sound like a gossiping sorority girl. Probably texting Frias and Barnett and then in the next sentence say Brosnan has been proven to be a pathological liar. Just stop. We cannot believe your side of the story.

I have a feeling Mia's parents are laughing at how people think she will go to a placed based on available scholarships. This move is athletically motivated and I do not think La Canada allows poor people to live there. Her, Frias, and Collin's GF should just go to NAU and get it over with.
Her parents may be wealthy, but they seemed more than happy to pay zero at UVA and UCLA.
UVA/DUKE to UCLA to NAU doesn't sound right for academics.
If everyone is excited about paying full cost, they could go to Harvard and train with Ramsden and Gorriaran.
She ran the dmr and 3000 at the acc champio ship and did ok as I recall. Between then and the nationals she went into the portal and off the roster in some order.
For those wondering, I'll clarify the NCAA rules: Barnett and McDonnell will 100% have to sit out a full year unless they either return to their previous school (Virginia and Alabama), which isn't happening, or they decide to stay at UCLA. There will be zero waivers accepted for this. They will not win any appeals. They will absolutely, without a single doubt, not be competing until Fall 2024 if they transfer.
The NCAA can be petitioned to waive the redshirting requirement for athletes who transfer to two different schools. UCLA might be willing to provide the NCAA with a release of the athletes who wish to leave in order to avoid continuing controversy. That would only be fair, given how long UCLA took to inform Brosnan that his contract was not going to be renewed. The xc season is only a few weeks away and they currently have no coach. This might cause the NCAA to be more lenient with respect to the double transfer rule.
NCAA Transfer Rules (2023 Update) (ncsasports.org)
Hi. I’ve worked in NCAA compliance at the D1 level for many years. Nobody’s getting any waivers accepted for a second transfer anymore. NCAA started cracking down hard midway through last year. You will get a one time transfer exception, and that’s it. It’s great so many of you are looking up rules and coming up with scenarios to try to help these athletes’ cases. Sadly, the reality is that they will absolutely not be eligible to compete until Fall 2024. Zero chance. I don’t know how else to phrase it. Nobody is getting these passed anymore. Period. They will be sitting out a full year.

So what do you predict will happen if Dalia Frias decides to go to another school this fall? She left Duke after the spring semester with the intention of running for UCLA this fall, but she has never actually run for UCLA.
In your opinion, would Dalia Frias still have to sit out a full year if she attends a school this fall that is not UCLA?
Frias didn't go into the transfer portal and then was kicked off the team. It was the other way around.
Frias was kicked off the Duke team right after her indoor conference championships. At some point AFTER that she went into the transfer portal. What else was Frias supposed to do after getting kicked off the team? Just hang around Duke for 3 more years and not run?
I don't see how that can be correct, based on other variables. Frias was very popular with her Duke teammates. Many of them commented on her Instagram during the uncertainty, practically begging her to come back. Then they emphasized how much they were going to miss her, in the Instagram post when she announced to UCLA.
I doubt they would have felt comfortable doing that, if this was a person booted off the team and no longer welcome.
Besides, Frias in that UCLA announcement post mentioned the option to remain at Duke. She referred to the people and opportunities she knew she was giving up via transferring. If she had been booted off the team with no method to return, those sentences wouldn't be there.
Also, the Duke head coach Shawn Wilbourn was quoted in the school paper after indoor nationals. He said Frias was out due to, "an issue that's unresolved." That doesn't sound like someone who booted the runner off the team and doesn't want her back. It sounds like a program caught off guard when a name suddenly entered the portal, or they learned of her intentions.

Frias was kicked off the team immediately after the conference championship which was Feb 24 or 25. She didn't go into the transfer portal until March 1.
Since you can't change teams mid semester, there would have been no point in her going into the portal on March 1 if she was still allowed to run for the team. She only went into the portal at that time because Duke wouldn't allow her to run at indoor nationals.
Yep. You have to drive at least an hour east or west to find beach. Gainesville is a fun college town though. And according to Valby, the gators and wild boars are friendly wildlife.
