Most overrated team this season is Madison West without doubt. Most of their top guys will peak in the middle of the season again - just like track 2023. They’ll run great at griak. That’s it. Only guy to watch out for is Culp. Solid runner who could have a huge breakout season. Definitely a contender for top 10 at state.

He didn’t literally mean sniffed. I think he meant that Negrut challenged for a varsity spot last year. He actually ran a couple of varsity races last year. Now he is in their top 7. Madison West is so deep this year that last race, they had 2 guys go sub-17 in the JV race.

Speaking of the classic 8, Mukwonago and Arrowhead are going to struggle. Muk has 15 guys on the entire team and Arrowhead graduated everyone and track times of the next up ones were not great

The other Madison team (Madison East) won their section and made state for the first time since 1980.
From the outside looking in you wouldn’t think it’s a fast course. When you run it there are a lot of downhills that allow you to pick the pace up. There’s one difficult hill and that’s about it. The footing is usually pretty good and it’s a fun course. It’s sneakily fast and can produce PR’s. Not to mention SPASH is usually always racing it which gives good competition.
Just looking at an aerial shot, unless there's a massive drop down toward the river, it must be flat. Also, tennis seems to be a big deal.
Yes, Eau Claire Memorial has a good tennis program. Christian Phelps, the 2012 grad from Memorial, was one of the top ranked tennis players in HS and played it in college, and he qualified for state in high school XC for 4 years too.
