Oregon men r lookin' good, see Bill Dellinger results today. though I know it's still early (so who knows). But I think they should probs go up in rankings. Some sources have them way low.
Brigham Young junior teammates Joey Nokes and Aidan Troutner led the Cougars to a second-place finish as a team with 101 points in the men's 8-kilometer race at the Virginia Invitational at the Panorama Farms course in Earlys...
why is Izaiah Steury running unattached? Didn't he already redshirt last year at ND?
Steury ran cross country for Notre Dame as a true freshman last year, but he redshirted indoor and outdoor track. I guess if he redshirts this xc season then he'll end up with a full "redshirt triple" to use on a fifth year.
First team I went to was NAU, the defending ncaa champs and this website does not even have one of the primary reasons that no team has a shot to beat NAU - grad transfer Las Heras. Did I miss something?
Yes that website does not seem correct at all. No chance Oklahoma State is better than NAU. The individual rankings also seem very strange. Ky Robinson and drew Bosley are in the top 3 along with Nico young imo. I don’t know what data it is looking at though.
I’ve manually transferred him now. His tfrrs profile shows the transfer, but the tfrrs NAU roster does not. A lot of people don’t seem to appreciate how bad of a website TFRRS can be.
Older people are on the roster for the same reason Las Heras was not included: coaches don’t update their rosters. Because of this, I cannot assume missing names are graduated. Instead, I use “active” and “inactive” based on whether someone has raced recently or has appeared on the roster.

You can see how individuals are ranked by going to their individual pages. Ky Robinson ran slowly in his most recent race, but his ranking will improve if and when he runs faster. The individual rankings are a little bit more of a "heat sheet" based on speed ratings. The simulator shows how those individuals should score in a hypothetical race.
As I've said every year, the accuracy should step up in October when people start to actually race. For now, its only really good for getting 5k equivalents of performances.
You’re underestimating OK St. They brought in two Kenyans which just placed 1st and 2nd at Cowboy Jamboree running some pretty dang fast times for that course. They easily beat teammate Victor Shi*sama who was all American. Add low sticks Alex Maier, and Faud Massoudi who both will probably place top 10 and you have a pretty formidable top 5! A better top 5 than NAU if you ask me. It will be very close between NAU and OSU in November.
Dave Smith really wanted revenge after losing at home on a tie breaker. he flew to Kenya and got a couple of ringers. Kipngetich and Musau are total game changers. their first NCAA race and barely broke a sweat.
I might have to put Oklahoma St. slightly ahead of NAU in the rankings.

I think it's still a little too early to completely trust this one result. Last year NAU got blown out at the Jamboree but they managed to clutch it up after a month of training. A couple of runners on other teams had really good Jamboree results and then disappeared later at nationals despite it being most of the same course. It could also be a bit of home course effect which won't be happening this year.
I do agree though that they will be game changers. If one of them can match Rodriquez's performance that puts them right back in the mix for #1, but I'd personally still put NAU over them at this time. It's just hard to fathom beating two top 5 guys, and then 3 guys who were top 25 last year all who have 4 years of racing experience. That's just absurd scoring to have to topple.
Cowboys for the win. With their new top two and 4 returning all Americans they are going to be a force. That UVA course is challenging especially for 10k. Im calling it now that this is the year for OSU, NAU streak is OVER

yeah, its still early and a lot can happen. just seeing those 2 Kenyans basically jog across the finish line like they were out for a morning stroll was terrifying. especially considering they're freshman. I mean, Simeon Birnbaum ran great but at least he looked exhausted after the race.
a long ways to go and am rooting for the Lumberjacks.
