Dude she has a twitter... the brands don't care if you have a small social. It might move the needle if you have a lot like Tuohy or Hicks. If they require an IG account as a part of her contract then she would do it I bet.
I don't get why you are so against the idea that she could go pro? Plenty have done it without her stats. I bet she does or goes semi pro and focuses on roads and XC.
She seems shy and more team than individual oriented
She doesn't have great speed or finishing kick
She has said she wants to be a vet
Her track times have been fairly stagnation over last few years
Therefore she almost certainly will not run professionally in any significant way
You’re quite right. Isn’t it curious that she’s never publicly expressed a desire to go pro while being quite clear about her desire to become a Veterinarian? It’s her life, not yours. If she wanted to go pro she would have said so and not been so averse to doing interviews. Yes, she’s probably talented enough but becoming a Vet is tougher than becoming a doctor so she’s plenty challenged with her existing ambitions. Her personality, social media footprint, form and a lack of strong PR progression point to a different direction than some here desire. Stop projecting your own ambitions to hers. She’s lucky to have the choice. It’s her life!

Even more shocking, Bush, Hays and Seymour will also run pro for a few years before moving on to their careers. Hold your breath, even Shaw and Moreno could try the pro ranks. At their best, the talent is there, but having battled inconsistency and injury, I'm not sure what they want to do.

I'm not the one hanging on and I've had my own career in sports and business. I stated a simple fact: Chmiel will finish out most of her eligibility with the pack, she will then run pro for a few years, focussing on 5k, 10k and roads. When she's done, she will attend vet school. Her prs are 4:36, 8:58 and 15:27. Despite her form, she's been remarkably durable posting 8 consecutive all-american xc seasons (HS and college), which is probably a record. Most recently she was NCAA #3 in xc, and #4 indoor 5k, that's a pro resume.
You guys keep bringing up all these oddball excuses why this won't happen??? Of course, she wants it to happen, otherwise she wouldn't do it.
bush league move by the former Alabama runner passing a revered, established member of “the pack” in the final 100m at their home track no less.
Then so oblivious as to everyone else after she crosses the line as to wander into lane one into lapped racers…

Didn't read the rest of the way through the thread before posting, so sorry if someone else queried this, but how could Chmiel feel the other girl took a championship from her when she was only going to get the win because Tuohy wasn't running? That would require some serious denials on her part.
Reading through some of the recent posts about Kelsey Chmiel and what various poster's think her future plans should (or should not) be and I just wonder why it matters to some poster's on here if she runs professionally or continues her academic studies by attending veterinary school to earn a DVM. It really is none of their business.
It is her life and her decision on what she wants to do next after she exhausts her collegiate eligibility and/or decides to hang up her running shoes -- and why can't those who post here honor her choice (whatever it would be) and celebrate her accomplishments both on the track/XC course and in the classroom.
Will add that it has been a pleasure to watch her run while she has been at NC State; but, what I really get pumped up about is when I read about the academic accomplishments she and all her teammates achieve and think about what it takes to balance being a top tier student with being a D1 athlete. These are truly some amazing students and athletes and that is what we should celebrate.
