As usual apologists on this website are trying to drive a narrative that it's not Zane Robertson's fault it's Kenya's fault that's he has been found to be a doper.An adult over 18 years old should be held responsible for his mistakes and his choices but because the accused looks like the ordinary lad next door he gets a free pass from the usual suspects on this website.
Exactly. We don't even have to imagine the derision that would have been rained down upon anyone with whom the Bros of Letsrun could not personally identify, be it a woman (Houlihan) or a non-American of color (Peter Bol), had they not only tested positive, but cooked up an all-time laugher of an excuse. Because we have already seen it too many times.
Let's spell it out:
This guy moaned about how doping was ruining the sport, and implored people to speak out about it;
He took EPO;
He had a chance to receive a shorter ban if he cooperated with the authorities after having been caught;
He chose instead to procure a risibly fake official document attesting to his innocence.
And yet, 5 pages in, it's 50/50 he's a nice guy and a tragic victim whose predicament we can understand versus he's just another "drug cheat". Amazing, considering that the evidence clearly points to this guy being a gravely dishonest moron. He deserves even less sympathy than the average Kenyan, yet, so far, he's getting much more.
