What are they scared of? I’m very angry about this but I also have to laugh. Has to be one of the most ridiculous things I’ve heard. The right have lost their minds 😂
Don't get too angry and upset. The "most ridiculous thing you've ever heard" may have never happened. If you read the article that you posted, the school Superintendent denied the allegations. Here is a piece from your article: "Tuscaloosa County Superintendent Dr. Keri Johnson, in a statement, denied allegations that an administrator told the students to leave out historical elements. 'It is not true that faculty or staff told students that slavery or the civil rights movement could not be part of the program.'"
After reading the article, I think these are our options:
(1) The students were told by school administration that they could not mention slavery or the Civil rights movement during a program on black history, and the school superintendent and various school administrators are now lying in their denials.
(2) The students named in the article are lying and/or deliberately chose to misunderstand something the school administrators said as being told they can't mention slavery or the Civil Rights movement, and are trying (and succeeding) to create a racial story for the national media.
(3) The students named in the article misunderstood something the school administrators said and then believed, either reasonably or unreasonably, that they were told they can't mention slavery or the Civil rights movement. Nothing the school Superintendent now says seems to quell their outrage.
I'm going with (2), since we all know that slavery and the Civil Rights movement have been taught in every high school in America for the last 50 years (at least), and it seems preposterously unlikely that school administrators told anyone, at any time, or for any reason, that they couldn't mention slavery and the Civil rights movement.
Unfortunately, we know AP News decided on option (1) given that unequivocal headline. They pulled a Fox News stunt where the headline doesn't match the content of the article -- they hope people do what you (the OP and other in this thread) did and just read the headline, get outraged and begin distributing it.
Ohhhh, the superintendent denied it….so that means it never happened. Why didn’t anyone tell me that? We all know he would never lie! 🤦🏽♂️ 🤦🏽♂️ 🤦🏽♂️
Not true. Many people still alive today were taught in school that slavery wasn't that bad and that slaves actually had it better than lower class free people in the north.
Do you not know your history?
In fact, we still have people post on LRC that slavery wasn't that bad.

Yep, the left have lost their minds a long time ago. Biden letting men go into women’s bathroom with little girls in there! The Left lost it a long time ago. Who would’ve thought we’d come to freaky stuff like that from the Left. You can’t make this stuff up!!!!!
The average black IQ is 85. Non immigrants have an average IQ slightly below this, while immigrants have an IQ right around 100. In comparison, the average white IQ is 100 and the average Asian IQ is 106. This determines success.
I guess it’s is easier for Letsrun Caucasians to believe a whole group of children made up a big lie than it is to believe there are racists in the Alabama school system. I repeat Alabama school system. Smh
People like you are just as racist as anyone in Alabama...
But then you're undoubtedly one of the indoctrinated imbeciles who think black people can't be racist.

The superintendent is a woman.
You know literally nothing about this story other than that you've been told to pretend to be offended.

Your uncle Larry isn't "many people".
People deny the Holocaust too that doesn't mean it's remotely a mainstream opinion outside of the muslim world and the Joy Reid types.

I believe it is a "she" superintendent - her name is Keri Johnson (according to the article). And you WERE told that she denied this claim -- again, it's in the posted article. And it looks like more than just superintendent Johnson denied this claim -- faculty and staff at the school did as well.
I tend to believe superintendent Johnson (and I also doubt she is a racist, as you called her in an earlier post). It would be a really weird and risky thing to lie about. Superintendent Johnson undoubtedly knew this was going to hit the national and local media, so it is much more likely (in my opinion) that she immediately spoke to the school administrators, faculty and staff involved and got their version of the events and relayed them to the national media. Lying about something of this magnitude -- or even worse, conspiring with other school faculty and staff to lie about it -- would be relatively easy to expose and a huge career risk that I would assume most people are unlikely to engage in, further assuming that they even wanted to.
In the highly unlikely event that this school actually does ban the mention of US slavery and/or the Civil Rights movement when teaching about black history, one would assume they did so deliberately, openly and proudly, and it's not something they all would be of the mindset to lie about later.
As I said previously - I don't hold it against you for not remembering as it must be hard for your brain to keep track of your contradictions.
Which part was untrue?
You've got the insults down. How about the actual subject now.
Would you say more black people being aborted than born since 1970 is better or worse than slavery?
Do you deny that the black family structure has been completely destroyed in the last 60 years?
Democrats were the party of slavery. Today they are the party of keeping black people poorly educated and poor. It was about power and control then and it's about power and control now.
If you really care about black people stop voting for their oppressors and stop attacking any black person who has the audacity to think for themselves like Thomas Sowell.
At the risk of wading into this debacle …
Tell me what you know and imagine about “black family structure” in this country for the 450 odd years prior to the last 60.
Anybody who thinks (as some have said above) that the welfare state or democrats or any other institution of modern America is the root of these situations is ignorant.
I’d suggest that the institution of slavery, where families were literally torn apart, marketed like cows in the town square and sold up the river was more detrimental to ANY family structure in this country than modern policy or ideology.
Couple that with the trauma inflicted on the individual lives of slaves and you’re absolutely crazy if you think the outcome of that was ever going to yield some healthy nurturing loving family structure. The generational flow of that sh** will last centuries.
People like you are just as racist as anyone in Alabama...
But then you're undoubtedly one of the indoctrinated imbeciles who think black people can't be racist.
Anyone that is smart, of which you are not, knows that people of any race can be racist or discriminate against others.
It looks like we have found your latest trigger point to spew about and melt down, 24/7. You were on this thread spewing drivel when I went to work this morning and you're still here! Get outside and go for a walk, read a book, live a little. There's more to life than being here and triggered all of the time. It's just not a healthy option for you.
#ThereisADoltInTheRoom and he is triggered once again

So you disagree with the BLM types who argue that it's impossible for black people to be racist because they racism requires power.
You think I'm triggered and you're here ranting about a topic you clearly know nothing about... lol.
If only people like you spent as much time learning as you do pretending to be offended.

Can you back anything you're saying with statistics? Read Black Rednecks and White Liberals and see what you think. The stats of single-parenthood rates in the black population before and after the Great Society programs show an interesting trend. While the black population was less materially wealthy during periods of slavery and Jim Crow, it wasn't until LBJ's Great Society that we saw the rise in broken black families and rates of crime offenses that led to the urban degradation we see today. This has been confirmed by black intellectuals who've actually lived long enough to see the cultural changes, it's not just a bunch of white supremacists playing revisionist history.
While I think there is something to the idea that some of the policies around welfare contribute to broken homes there are lot of other contributing factors. Like how about the CIA flooding the streets with crack just to name one.
But I think as far as welfare goes it is the implementation that is the problem ie that a single mother receives a check but as soon as she is married or the income goes too high you get nothing. There needs to be incentive for people to stay together. The counter argument is that mothers will be stuck in abusive relationships. I personally know I dont have all the answers but having gone through it (my wife and I were pretty poor when we started our family) and have seen others there is definitely room for improvement and I have to agree I dont see many people in DC on either side of the aisle trying to improve it.

The CIA peddling crack conspiracy has been debunked many times.
The incentives for staying together are in the tax code. Married couples with children get huge benefits.
The home wrecking policies were intentional to create a permanent class of Democrat voters on the government nipple.

There's over 1200 students at the high school.
The majority of them are black.
Only 200 walked out.
There's a reason most kids didn't care.
That’s flawed logic.
How many Americans felt Trump was robbed? How many protested at the Capitol?
