Monson just demonstrated she is well under 4:20 form, so if she doesn’t break 4:20 in the race, one possibility is she got paid not to embarrass the local collegiate.
Omg LOL you have got to be kidding. 🤣🤣🤣 Do you write for the Onion? Monson sandbagging for money?!?
There are only two runners in the field who could approach 4:20 and 12 in the race. So what if she beats Tuohy by 8 seconds if she runs a 4:20?
Last I checked 4:28 is a solid time and faster then the PRs of half the field. If she runs that, very cool.
katelyn ran 4:06 easily (4:25 converted mile) during outdoors and in xc, her kick looked better, she ran down a 12-second gap in less than 2 kilometers.
but then i guess its too early bcoz this is a season opener after a break and not championship season, so this isnt her peak indoor form
we'll see
my predictions are 4:25 and 8:40 if she's back in her 4:06 form, look at how easy it was, well she basically time trialed and didnt bother tactically racing
NC State Sophomore Katelyn Tuohy takes the race from the start to finish, splits 48 67 66 63 to win the ACC 1500m title!! A 6-second PR! Katelyn doubled back...
Henes is a 405, 427, 842, and 1452 pr runner... Tuohy is closest to her at 1500 and progressively fades to maybe low 15s 5k at her best recently... So prob 429 and then 846... If things go well
NCAA XC would have been exactly the same had tuohy gone with valby... Only 2 runners breaking away instead of 1... Tuohy would have won either way! If anyone else went with them they would have died and finished worse... The rest of NC state would have ran the same no matter what tuohy did... Tuohy ran how she had been training... Tuohy didn't control 250 runners with her decision! Just like valby didn't either!

Funny how the same people who say Tuohy cant run 4:25 are the people who say Valby breaks 4:25 on the other thread haha

Tuohy indeed controlled the runners with her decision, didnt Natalie Cook said she she didnt go with valby because Katelyn didn't? the rest didnt and just stayed with Katelyn, it was actually insane to see. Everyone only started surging when Tuohy started to surged.
Sam bush said, they run "chill" and go out hard in the last 2 kilometers, thats how they run their best and she said she was thinking and hoping that Katelyn would stay with them as much as she can because she says if Katelyn went with the leader the race would have been more different as the pace would pick up early in the race and not at 4k like how they want it to be
Quarzo and Seymour faded for state bush and Moreno were heros... I don't think tuohys decision affected that! Yeah it might have pushed a few runners in either direction but most were gonna run their race!

they would but it would not gurantee that it would have the same result ... they had to run a race where all their teammates run their best .. they did an experiment and tried a diff tactic, they tried it at wisconsin, it did not go well for most of them
As we prepare for #CamelCityElite, we've learned that Katelyn Tuohy of @Wolfpack_TFXC is withdrawing to pursue other racing opportunities. We support her decision & look forward to her return to JDL. We wish her luck & know she's going to kick butt wherever she races!

I think Semi has the facts right on this one. It is in the podcast with Chmiel and Bush.
James and Cory are joined by National Champion cross country runners Sam Bush, Kelsey Chmiel and (maybe) Katelyn Tuohy on this week’s podcast! We’ll discuss ...
