Left wing Right wing Dead center, who cares? This is so wrong and so clearly shows a physiological advantage (see Lia Thomas the swimmer) over the others how can any sane human being agree with it is beyond logic and anything close to resembling critical thinking.
Be what you want, change what you want, but...you don''t get to do it with an obvious advantage and cheat others. It's wrong.
Don't like it one bit another story about a male defeating females and we are suppose to celebrate? The real winner is the real female that took 2nd. When are they going to stop this non-scense?
This is the desired outcome of the trans acceptance movement. It isn't a big, it is a feature.
I want to be very clear, outside of sport I fully support a transgender person living their life as they're selected gender. They shouldn't be distributed against, they shouldn't be forced to remain their birth sex, nothing like that. It is only in sport that I think athletes should not get to choose their gender.
I understand where you’re coming from, and I think your stand is based on compassion. However philosophically it makes no sense to state that people can decide their own gender, in defiance of biology, and then tell them they cannot compete as their “chosen” gender. Either their “feelings” and “decision” about their gender is right, or it isn’t. To say it isn’t fair for a man to compete against women is truthful, but what we’re really saying is that biological sex matters, that you may claim to be a woman, but your claim is false where it really matters.
Compassion requires honesty. You simply cannot change your sex.
Put it this way... if this person committed a crime with no witnesses but left DNA at the scene, after typing that DNA, would the police be looking for a male or a female suspect?
You fail to understand that words only mean what we choose them to mean. "Gender" and "sex" are how we choose to define them - and they are bring redefined because they are being perceived differently. If it were not so there would be no debate about these issues. But it's ok that you still think like those in the distant past.
My point about bringing up the history of gender ideology is that the original proponents of it also defended pedophilia and even placed kids in the care of sex offenders. (Look into Kentler or Money)
this is where the slippery slope is going. 10 years from now, you people will be arguing for pedophilia. Just like 10 years ago it was just two consenting adults. Look where we are now.
The Dersh has already pushed for pedophilia.
Alan Dershowitz made overtures to American and Israeli officials last year to see if they would support a plan to release a convicted pedophile from jail so that he could continue backchannel work in Middle East peace talks, The New York Times reported on Monday. The report said the high-profile lawyer was trying to ascertain whether then-US president Donald Trump would commute the 10-year sentence of George Nader, who was a senior adviser to Mohammed bin Zayed, the crown prince of Abu Dhabi and de facto leader of the United Arab Emirates. Nader also testified as a key witness in special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation. According to the report, Dershowitz helped build a proposal, which allies of Nader were led to believe was raised with the Trump administration, whereby the convicted pedophile would be released from prison and “self-deport” by boarding a private jet provided by the United Arab Emirates.
In 1997, Alan Dershowitz, who has been accused of rape and pedophilia by alleged female victims involved with the Jeffrey Epstein pedophile ring, wrote an opinion column headlined “Statutory rape is an outdated concept”:
He then suggests that the age of consent should be lowered to 15, or perhaps even 14. Facing a barrage of criticism — for his handling of the Epstein plea deal, for the allegations against him and now for this column — Dershowitz has been unapologetic. He told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency earlier this month that “I have no misgivings and I will continue to represent controversial people. That’s what I do. If I’m in a case, my job is to get the best possible result.” He similarly defended the 1997 column in a series of tweets. He said there should be “Romeo and Juliet exceptions” to statutory rape. “I stand by the constitutional (not moral) argument I offered in my controversial oped,” he wrote. “[I]f a 16 year old has the constitutional right to have an abortion without state or parental interference, how could she not have the constitutional right to engage in consensual sex? … I did not suggest that it is moral to have sex with a 16 year old, but rather that the issue presents a constitutional conundrum worthy of discussion.” This is a typical legalistic shell game called “reducto ad absurdum,” which attempts to prove the absurdity of a premise (statutory rape) by implying essentially that teenagers “rape” each other every time then engage in sexual activity. Statutory rape laws are not in place to protect teenage girls from necessarily engaging in illicit sex with teenage boys, and Dershowitz knows this. Those laws are in place so that adult sexual predators like Jeffrey Epstein and allegedly his close friend Alan Dershowitz cannot exploit underage girls without criminal consequences.

I disagree because in society there are many instances where a person's gender SHOULD NOT really matter (how one chooses to dress, for example, who cares?). Sports to me is a small section of the world in general and so I do think it is an exception to the rule for gender and should be protected for females.

I’d like to point out the connection between Dersh, Kentler, Money and early sexologist (the biggest ones are German during the 1920s-30s).

This is like saying that people who want to ban puberty blockers on minors also want to ban birth control pills.
So if we ban puberty blockers, will birth control pills also be banned in future?
Back to the main discussion, I’d like to point out how with this transgender athlete Seattle Academy was able to qualify for state. Without him, SA would’ve lost to King’s at districts.
it’s not just 1 girl losing a position. It’s at least 7 girls who lost an opportunity to a boy, and a system that celebrates THIS as progress.
But six girls at Seattle Academy got to compete in the state, which they otherwise would not have. So it's only a net loss of one girl. Seven lost the opportunity, but six gained it.
For the record, I do NOT think this as progress. One loss is still a loss.

A total load of irrelevant drivel. But that's what you do. What Dershowitz has done or not done has nothing to do with those who speak out about trans inclusion.
And what exactly wrong with giving hormone therapy to minors, assuming their parents or other legal guardians give consent?
Because eleven separate studies on gender dysphoria in kids show that on average 80% desist at puberty and usually turn out to be perfectly happy gay adults. Providing cross-sex hormones or blocking the crucial mechanism (puberty) that alleviates their dysphoria for even one child out of that 80% would be an absolute disgrace.
Regarding parental consent: parents around the world also give consent to FGM and circumcision for their own children- that doesn't make it morally right.
What are those "eleven studies"? Do they include Zucker's flawed study? Gender nonconforming kids who did not have gender dysphoria to begin with did not grow up to be transgender adults. Wow, a big surprise!
People should start listening to the transgender community when we say something is going horribly, horribly wrong inside medical institutions with power over us. It's time for the 80 percent desistance figure to be relegated...
So we are discussing the culture of Sudan, now, are we, and not the US?
Circumcision happens in the US, Einstein. And the point- which you are wilfully ignoring- is that parental consent evidently isn't the be all and end all when it comes to the best interests of children.
Female circumcision? Male circumcision has been a long standing practice in the West, undertaken with the advice and approval of the medical profession. It is going out of fashion. But it has nothing to do with procedures to change a child's gender. Parental consent isnt argued as the only fact that matters here. That's a typically stupid strawman. These are issues that are decided by how people choose to live in society, that will be within the law and according to expert medical advice when required.
Well done you, it must have been really tricky googling 'desistence myth' into Google and pasting in a link to Huffington post (lol) and 'transask.ca' (double lol). Here's a hint: if someone has gender dysphoria and then desists, saying that they were 'never really trans' and therefore *never at risk* of being pushed down a route of medicalisation is pretty much the definition of junk science. Do better.
Interesting that you spend your days getting hard for east African drug scandals and yet in a significant case of gender doping with much more noticeable advantages, you are completely in support. Could it possibly be because the dopers in the latter cases are almost exclusively white rich kids?
That 20 min 5k is clearly going to take a scholarship away from a deserving woman....
Why are people even worried about this, this isnt even happening just. Right wing conspiracy theory. But if it were happening and if you disagreed you'd be a transphobic bigot.

I would expect you to fail to understand the discussion. You don't disappoint. I have never supported male-identified-as-female participation in female sport where there is a clear biological advantage.
I don’t understand. All the leftists on this site and elsewhere tell me that this sort of thing hardly happens, and anyone who brings it up is a bigot. So how dare you print these lies.
No realists say it hardly ever happens - seriously the fact that a race tiny state division in one state made this a headline shows what a statistical outlier this is (1%? Maybe)
That said, even as someone whose politics you would mostly not agree with - this is silly and likely should never have happened. But please don’t act like you give a twit about the feelings of a bunch of girls in a bunch of small schools in WA.
