One about Emily Sisson’s new American Record just started and already has 10 posts. She did PHENOMENALLY well this morning! Awesome! I imagine there will be 100’s of posts about her just today and 1,000’s in the future, etc. As there should be!

I think the complaint is a "Nuttycombe" thread becomes another "Tuohy" thread.
Well it stands to reason that due to the fact that NC State is running the race, as is Tuohy, that there will be discussion about how teams will match up with NC State and which individuals can run with Tuohy.
Makes sense to me.
If this were a discussion about the Roy Griak Invite, her name might only pop up a few times, or not at all.
Yeah the Tuohy worship on this site is out of control. The last 4 pages have all been about Tuohy. It's mostly the fault of 3-4 obsessive posters hijacking every single discussion thread. Mods should clean this up. It's like this in any thread that is even tangentially related to her.
Seriously? When a top athlete is at the top of their game AND improving, it’s exciting so there is chatter about it and some disagreements, and discussions. Sorry to have annoyed you.
There are plenty of other discussions about top athletes, in fact, as of this moment there is a thread about Connor Mantz that has 141 posts. He did GREAT today!
This is not a Katelyn Tuohy thread. You have many other specific threads to spend 5 pages talking about Tuohy. It is especially bothersome when you have the same group of 3-4 obsessive individuals who talk in circles with each other about the same thing in EVERY THREAD.

Yes, because that is a specific thread for a specific athlete. This the "Nuttycombe" thread. Not the "Katelyn Tuohy at Nuttycombe" thread. Look at the Chicago Marathon thread; there is discussion on many different athletes and performances. Only when Tuohy is involved do things get weird, because of 3-4 specific obsessive posters. It ruins the discussion.
I know right. Why are people discussing the top-rated distance runner in the NCAA and how she might do in an upcoming race after her course record breaking performance in the previous one? On a running site no less. :) Seems like a relevant conversation, but that's just me I guess.
Want to discuss something/someone else? Then by all means.

And we’ve been discussing the race, who we anticipate to win, discussing specifics about it, etc. I even got specific and talked about potential course-record, etc.

I suppose because she’s relevant to the conversation due to being a competitor in it? I would imagine that’s the case…. Someone mentions something, others discuss, it becomes a bit of a conversation of sorts. Interesting.
I don’t know if it’s been pointed out because I’m only on page 3 of 6 but the Wisconsin course was changed in 2019(? Or 2020 but I think it was 2019) to a legitimate 6K, prior to that it was slightly short.

Oh look, right on cue. One of those obsessive posters.

No. You've been discussing how Tuohy will do in the race, how you anticipate Tuohy to win, and discussing about Tuohy breaking the potential course record. This has gone on for 6 pages and nothing of substance has been said. The only "discussion" is whether Tuohy will do great or if she'll do amazing. Find something else to talk about.

This "conversation" is only interesting to the obsessive Tuohy fans on this site.

Is this written about anywhere? Someone else said 2018
19:19 is a crazy time on a hilly course... you have to properly execute a race plan to get to that and not just hammer it up front well i guess you have to hammer it up front because surely no one will push the pace that hard other than the person who wants to break the record, and i dont think kemboi wants to break the record, she just wants to stay close to katelyn, meanwhile mccabe would also do the same and just draft behind katelyn ... so the effort to break it will all be on katelyn. Its going to be tough yea.
Looking at past LACCTiC ratings for this course 19:19 would seem to result in a 5K rating of below 14:50 which seems awfully fast for mid October (or maybe for for any college athlete anytime). Last year 20:08 was 15:37. In 2019 20:35 for Chmiel was 16:07.
