i read a lot of crazy s*** on here, but this thread has to be one of the most insane.

last year NP had BY FAR the best team in history. no other team ever comes even close.

this year they have 3 of the top 4 guys returning and the look to be as good as last year. if all goes well they might take 1-2 at nationals. 4th and 5th guy are almost as good as last years 5th guy. they have a bunch of freshmen that would kill it at most other HS out there.

are they as good as last year? maybe not quite. but does that mean that if a team the year after rewriting the history book are DONE because they don't perform AS GOOD, it ludicrous. ya'll are a disgrace to running (and math for that matter).

Fremont ne and Cheyenne Mountain co both won state with 6 new varsity guys
you’d think a team would disappear after returning only 1 person

First off, Jesuit beat Carmel at Niketown. How could you have forgotten this?
Second of all, I was only looking at freshman and sophomore times, so we can see which will do better (NP or Jesuit) when those freshmen are juniors and seniors. I left out Jesuit’s juniors and seniors from this list.

So at the state meet, Shetty ran slower than everyone from Granada, San Clemente, and Great Oak.
At NXN, he beat:
The 7th Great Oak guy
The 7th San Clemente guy
The 5th Granada guy.
He also almost beat the 4th Granada guy.

Can we say improvement?
And peaking?

Yes the are untouchable this year.

If there are threads like “what happened to the Newbury Park boys team?” next year it will mean that something is wrong with some people because they don’t realize that when a team loses so many top seniors and a great coach, a team gets worse.
