JS, if things go south Sunday will you admit that you don't know everything, and that you are no Wizard, and will you end this thread?

Will you STFU? That would be a better idea.
This thread has been amazing. It's finally race time. Let's stay focused.
Let's go BABY!
Phil - Did you bring the wife and kid? Or just you? Maybe I missed it.
Good luck man. No matter the result, been a great read. You have improved alot, so I know you will run well.
What is this obsession over JS? Let the man be. Its obvious that it's been helping Phil, isn't that what matters?
As it's been mentioned, JSs methods might be unconventional, but it does have the backbone like any other successful training program, just a lot less miles.
All these haters just ruining this thread. So if Phil succeeds, will all these haters shut up and never post on this forum as well? It goes both ways.

So he will not post on this thread again if his method fails? Phil helped Phil, not JS. If you want to be truthful, it doesn't matter if Phil runs 2:02 Sunday because all JS did was hinder him. I might give him 5%for all that cheerleader stuff, but that won't do much at 22 miles and JS will be 1,000,000,000 miles away thinking up excuses to post.I really wish Phil the best let me be clear, but JS is hurting runners with his crazy formula and lies of his greatness.
That's just plain unfair. If Phil fails, it's because of JS. If Phil succeeds it's despite of JS.
I'm also unsure if JS' method is perfect but if Phil gets his 2:19, I'll acknowledge that this type of training works.
A step in the right direction ?. At least you and Phil admit there might be a problem with his method. I have been saying this for months and others have too.

You've said it yourself: there MIGHT be a problem with his method so you're not sure yourself there is.
It's an unconventional approach but the plan has some solid elements so there's still a great chance for succes. We'll see tomorrow ?.
And that's what is making this thread so interesting ☺

I really don`t know who you are or what you have against me? I repeat I never lie when it comes to running and what I have achieved as an online coach now in just about four years.About 300 runners have gone into the system and all improved.
Did your mummy tell you fairy tales when you were a little boy about magic wizards and so on , and you still believe them to be true? If so I can inform you wizards with real magic power don`t exist in the real world of life, it`s just that my system looks to be magical.
And whatever the outcome of Phil`s race tomorrow this coaching of him is already a big success! On just 60-75 mpw he has run PB at 10 miles and won solo a couple of 5 k`s on good times, after almost 10 years delay.
Phil and I have agreed to continue this cooperation whatever happens tomorrow in CIM. He is ready to run a sub 2:19 but as we know marathon is a very tricky distance where "anything" can happen.
I just love this coaching of Phil mainly because it`s my chance to see how good I could have been back in the -80s-90s with the experience I now own.I run again !
And it`s not just selfish. I have shown Phil the way that will take him beyond his running dream to reach 2:19 , on just relatively low mileage that fits his other life situation.
Now .....Good luck Phil ! You are running with invisible magic wings.... : )))

JS - Can you give up the day by day breakdown of training this week? I am sure it will get lost after the results tomorrow.
Also - will Phil do a warm-up?

I’m sitting in Folsom with my wife. She is also racing tomorrow hoping for a marathon Pr (3:15ish) 10 years later as well. The kids are at home with the grandparents. We are going to be in California for 6 days total for some rest and relaxation. We haven’t been away from our children for more than 36 hrs in 3 years so we are looking forward to it.
Our lovely one year old woke us up at 3:30am yesterday. We both got about 4 hours of sleep before our day of travel. Exhausted and feeling terrible we slept from 6pm-4:30am last night. 10+hrs of sleep is about a magical as J.S! I don’t talk about my lack of sleep to complain or make excuses. I just consider it the cost of wanting it all. I tried being single, 100-120 miles a week, all the time in the world to recover. It lead to depression and alcohol abuse for me. I may be exhausted beyond belief most days but I have my wife, my children, a job that provides for them, and I have my running. I am happy and content.
For the J.S. haters...he has absolutely helped me improve. I am a much better runner now than I was 6 months ago. I’d be running 50-70 miles per week either way. J.S. has helped me maximize those 50-70 miles. I think the only person on earth that truly knows they are going to run well in a marathon is Kipchoge. J.S. makes me feel like kipchoge some days with his enthusiasm and support but realistically i am full of nerves and doubts about tomorrow just like every single other person that is on the starting line.

Warm up tomorrow will be 7-8 min of easy jogging and my usual pre race/pre workout drills. High knees, butt kicks, arm swings, and quick skip/stride thing that I don’t know what to call. Nice and simple!
Are you really going for a negative split?
Also, does anyone know if there's going to be a stream?
So nice to read your comment. And for the few (one?) JS haters we of course know they would just love
to come up with this great training system themselves. They are just jealous of an amazing coach and his
revolutionary training system with less amount of miles.
From everyone who appreciated this thread we send you a unison, GOOD LUCK!
It's simply human nature to fight against something that appears to be the norm. There are examples of guys that have run great marathon times with less than the traditional "high" mileage weeks.
Just from an outsiders perspective, it's interesting to see how all these haters are seemingly personally insulted by the fact that JS is trying to promote an unconventional program. I seriously don't understand why guys are reacting in such an emotional way.
If you don't like it, then just say you don't agree with the methodology and move on. It's like all the SJWs of today getting all triggered by someones opinion.

Thanks for sharing, Phil. Best of luck to both you and your wife. I thought it was an interesting thread to read and I am very curious about the results. I really hope you get the OTQ, that would be amazing!!!
Cheers,
Great update, Phil. That's so cool you've got a week of vacation with your wife. Rooting for you both to get some new PRs!
2:22:34 from my side.
Hopefully I'm mistaken !
Best of luck, Phil!
Be strong-fast and relaxed !
Phil had a base before he met you and had run respectable times before you.You did very little, stop with the foolishness. You should be a motivational speaker because that is all you are, talk and talk, no Magic there.
