We don't need a million thread on this topic. We like one thread per topic. We merged several others into this thread including one called "Alex Pretti was a deranged lunatic." and one called "New York Times reports that Pretti attacked ICE cars 11 days before his death" and one called "LeBron James: Why hasn't he commented on the Alex Pretti killing?"
That’s not why he was shot nor why he was apprehended. He was apprehended because he was ibstructing law enforcement. He was shot because someone saw the gun and called it out while another sees either Petti’s left arm going for his pocket or his right hand holding an object and an empty holster. Was it a mistake, yes, but I question your description and the inference of intent by the LEOs. If he is not armed and if he does not interfere with law enforcement, he is alive today. Carrying a gun involves risk and responsibility.
Hey Joe...You're one of the few on here who has a rational, logical, functioning brain...lol
This is another way of saying you two clowns are in the absolute minority.
No. Joe is actually a rational thinker on technical matters in his area of expertise. And he often approaches political points with more equanimity and a broader view than many others here, left and right (not always, but better than ever age for what goes on here). He just seems constitutionally incapable of actually turning a true critical eye on the right.
Time to start looking at the bigger picture of what ICE is doing and what the Trump administration's goals are. The ICE actions that are going on right now are extremely inefficient because ICE is just looking for anyone who isn't white and has an accent. ICE is repeatedly sweeping up US citizens and immigrants with legal status and then wasting lots of time processing them and figuring out that they need to be released. And the high visibility of ICE raids has sent undocumented immigrants underground, making it even less likely to find them and detain them. ICE has been in this business for over two decades. They know that the best way to find undocumented immigrants is to raid employers who are known to employ undocumented immigrants. I actually saw an ICE raid back during the last years of the Obama administration in my neighborhood. They raided a tortilla factory. There were about a half dozen ICE agents and a few local cops. If the media hadn't showed up, you would not have known what was going on. But this approach disrupts businesses. The tortilla factory ended up going out of business and is now a huge apartment complex (gentrification at work).
What ICE is doing in communities like Minneapolis has little to do with immigration enforcement. They are picking fights with locals to try to let Trump invoke the insurrection act to impose martial law. If they do this in a number of different places across the US, the Trump administration will then try to suspend 2026 midterms or the 2028 elections. The one thing the Trump administration understands is that it is going to get walloped in the 2026 midterms and there is no Trump successor who can win in 2028.
This is pretty obvious considering ICE's tactics. People have commented about ICE agents lacking adequate training because of the surge in their numbers. ICE agents are getting plenty of training. But it is the wrong training. They are being encouraged to rapidly escalate and using pepper spray and pepper balls to try and goad protestors into escalating. ICE desperately wants to incite a riot to let Trump invoke the insurrection act.
Absolutely false ignorant post by an old man liberal.
Trump and ICE are doing exactly what OBAMA and ICE did, except that conservatives didn't riot and attempt to stop them, as many, but not all liberal protesters, are PAID to do.
Stand on the sidewalk and balk all you want. Go into the street and film or harass, the rules change whether you are right or left wing.
Minneapolis is the exception as these things did not happen in other cities no different than OBAMA----when he said, if you are here illegally we will find you and deport you.
You protested nothing that he did, zero. Trump does it and liberal goof balls, like this poster Roy Roy, attempt to make philosophical posts to sound uniquely intelligent, but fail miserably except for the 90 percent of liberals who lick the boot of anything Anti-Trump with their all mighty up votes--lol!
You all rave about the laws here and there, but are okay with illegals, even sick murderers whom liberal judges let out. But if it were OBAMA......?
I am so glad Trump won as are the majority of Americans.
1.9 million have taken the money and self-deported. Put on your thinking cap Roy Roy, use critical unbiased thinking, not the garbage post that you just posted. Reading comments from or watching CNN with their left wing conspiracy theories, then regurgitating it here, doesn't make you smart.

You succeeded, 5 down votes in just a few minutes! The liberals are all stirred up;)
Democrats are hypocrites and that'll never change.
For P. Roy. You've been watching liberal stations all day yesterday and today. The insurrection act theory has been all over the news, both liberal and conservative stations.
The poster is right. Your entire post is parroting what you just watched on MSNBC or CNN. Feel better now?
Hey boomer...You stated it plainly, you don't believe all illegals should be deported...
Well, you lost the election fairly and squarely and in our Democratic system you have to follow the rules and allow those in charge to institute their agenda...WE voted them into power and it's our turn to call the shots...
THIS IS DEMOCRACY...
Correct. I do not believe all undocumented immigrants should be deported. And neither do businessmen/women and politicians from both sides of the isle. There is a lot of bluster from the right as it gets people to the voting booth (immigrant=boogey man), but we know that Trump (and his minions) has hired many undocumented workers at his hotels and resorts. Certain industries really on immigrant labor and those businesses are owned by people on the right and the left. Immigrants contribute greatly to our economy. Look it up. The numbers are astounding. If you truly got your racist wish and they were all deported, it would tank our economy. Americans aren't getting turned away from jobs at the meat plant or in the strawberry fields. Americans don't want those jobs.
And if you're worried about crime, look up crime statistics between US born citizens and immigrants. I'm certainly not afraid of immigrants in my community. I'm more concerned about ignorant, trigger-happy members of MAGA.
So, I think there should be a pathway to citizenship (or legal status) for those already here, working, and contributing to our society regardless of how they got here. I also believe in a strong border. The two are not mutually exclusive.
Speaking of "DEMOCRACY," Petti was practicing his 1st and 2nd Amendment rights before he was murdered.

Honestly all this is so dumb. Everyone's acting as if it's black and white, two things can be true at the same time!! ICE was created in 2003 and has been helping stop the flow of illegal drugs and criminals from neighboring countries for years, in that sense they are good. But 7v1 a dude and than shooting him is totally not ok, and suddenly ICE is bad. Somalian people have added a lot to the American culture, same with Hispanic. In that sense they are good. But when they undermine the US costumes system and enter illegally or are scamming the government, they are bad.

This is one of the weird things about the left, they like illegal immigrants for two reasons;
1) they vote for the left and, this is the really important thing;
2) you can pay them far less than minium wage.
which is hypocrosy at its finest.
I was in LA with a student green card. applied for a job in a beach front restaurant with some other people, bunch of us got accpetd, but first we all had to go into a side room with the owner who then said; do you have a green card? so i got full wages, his slaves presumably didnt.
ironically this isnt the meme photo you think it is.
It shows the armed person who has been resisting arrest, getting up with his right hand not visible to the policeman, hence, in legitimate fear for his life and that of his fellow LEOs he has to use deadly force until the threat is eliminated.
