There's nothing Trump could have done about the unemployment situation under the pandemic.
But he's first to take credit for good news that he didn't contribute to.
So he's stuck with this historical moment.
Now it's about his words and actions in handling it going forward.
And he constantly contradicts himself.
He surrounds himself with doctors and gives guidelines to safely reopen things.
Then he encourages protesters to break his guidelines.
He absolves himself of responsibility by pushing everything on the governors to manage the bad things.
The states need funding because they are the ones that handle the initial unemployment claims and suffer from lack of tax income.
But he allows Mitch McConnell to block that funding and suggest states go bankrupt.
Trump is not leading on this. He's just pushing people's buttons and encouraging political divisiveness.
Trump needs to step up and say the obvious that the economy sucks right now and will suck for the rest of the year.
Instead he gives false hope and claims it will snap back quickly and greatly.
He said the virus would be gone in April and here we are in May with growing problems.
Part of this situation is his lack of planning and proper communication.
Trump is showing that he is not the right leader for a crisis situation.
