I love this story so much.

Before the coronavirus pandemic hit, someone here challenged my assertion that Tiny was harming the environment. So I posted a list of detrimental regulatory changes his administration had made. Nobody challenged me on this point after that.

Today the New York Times ran a piece with an overview of the damage. You see, before Tiny started letting the virus kill us, he was already killing thousands of Americans by letting companies poison our air and water.

Donald Trump doesn't care how many die as long as his friends get richer.

Tuesday and Wednesday have been the worst days of the week and this week was no exception.

Still no improvement.

World 7 day average increase in daily deaths: +3% per day

US : +5%

3 day averages are atrociously bad.

Globally and in the US, May 6 was the worst day in almost 3 weeks.

Brazil is the new very bad place- huge country, people packed in, some very serious poverty. Having around more than 500 deaths per day now.

The death toll from this passed the 2004 tsunami and is heading toward the worst natural disasters in modern history.

No change in relative position of Sweden and the US among all nations.

***A note: There is a mathematical flaw in what I am doing. The flaw may be making things seem worse than they are. If I have time I will rejigger, using something like a 7 day rolling average. Point is, Worldometer is trying to do the same thing I am doing and they show a clear improvement over the last 3 weeks, whereas my numbers don't. I think the difference is that I am using percentages wrong. I have the data...but taking the time to rejigger might not happen. ***

I have to think the Dems can start using this to pry off some younger R and indie voters.

But this is another example of how Rs don't believe their party is so bad. Tell this stuff to even a regular R and he will deny it, say it is D propaganda.

Same with healthcare. Tell an R that the party is trying to take away health insurance and he won't believe it.

The fundamental distrust of facts by Rs is very difficult to beat. I don't know how to get them back into normal fact-based politics.

Top two stories on fox news.com are, of course, 'the FBI tried to frame Trump' stories.

Not one of the main headlines is clearly virus related.

Trump is the conman on the street corner telling you he has stolen merchandise that he is going to sell cheaply. You are thrilled thinking you are coming out ahead by cheating the system. But, in the end you find out that you were the one fleeced.

In the end our country will pay dearly for the trump policies.

The challenge is that there is a long list of serious issues to run on, all of which trump scores a fat F. Dems need to pick a few to fully get behind Biden's message. I say ACA/COVID response, the economy and lack of any fiscal conservatism, and corruption. They have to be aggressive on their positions on these issues and directly critical of Trump the whole time, give him no breathing room.

The trick is to sell it without offending, and FOX and trump have made that close to impossible. But they forget they lost at least 2-4% of the base since 2016.

It's not really fair - the R campaign strategy is to *intentionally* offend Dems, because owning the libs is a core R strategy and the deplorables love it more than anything.

But Ds have to tiptoe around the Trumpists' thin skins.

Yeah, but this is what has led to the slow bleed on the right. Sure, they have won a few elections, but they were either due to cheating (Bush in Florida), fear-mongering under war (Bush again), and mobilizing all the crazies with open racism and hate (Trump). The base continues to dwindle and the demographic shift only helps the left, but Dems have to get enough people out to vote. Hate works but there are way too many moderate Dems to risk it.

Not sure it's been pointed out, but Carville has an audience of one for this bit of political theater: Donald J Trump. Carville is trying to drive a wedge into the people running the Trump campaign. Trump is already feuding with Parscale because even internal polls show that Trump is losing so badly. If Trump thinks a) He is losing because of Parscale and b) parscale is getting rich off of Trump's money, then let's just say Brad Parscale is in for a tough time.

You are right. Denial was the reaction that I got the first time I talked about this. Then I showed the exact regulations that were being gutted. I think they still didn't believe it.
